Apple TV+’s new bilingual drama series 'Now & Then' will premiere its first three episodes on May 20, with the remaining five releasing individually on Fridays.

Shot in both Spanish and English, the eight-episode thriller shows a group of friends haunted by an accident they kept hidden in their past and a new threat that may expose them 20 years later. The show is set in Miami and features a large ensemble cast including Academy Award-nominated actresses Rosie Perez and Marina De Tavira. Scroll down to learn more about the cast.

Rosie Perez

Rosie Perez was born in Brooklyn, New York City, as one of her mother's ten children. She had a strict Catholic upbringing, which she has credited to the influence of the nuns during her childhood. When she was in third grade, Perez learned that she had a speech impediment.  She lost her mother to AIDS-related complications in 1999.

Perez started her career as a dancer and choreographed music videos by Janet Jackson, Bobby Brown, Diana Ross, LL Cool J, and The Boys. Later, she switched to acting and appeared in many movies including ‘Do the Right Thing’ (1989), ‘White Men Can't Jump' (1992), and ‘Fearless’ (1993), for which she earned a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Her other credits include ‘King of the Jungle’ (2000), ‘The Take’ (2007), ‘Pitch Perfect 2’ (2015), and ‘Birds of Prey’ (2020).

Perez earned three Primetime Emmy Award nominations for ‘In Living Color’ (1990–1994) and another Emmy nomination for her work in 'The Flight Attendant' (2020–present). She has performed on Broadway and worked as a co-host on the ABC talk show 'The View' during its 18th season. Perez is also an activist for Puerto Rican rights.



 

Marina De Tavira

Marina De Tavira is known for her role in Alfonso Cuaron's ‘Roma,’ for which she received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. She studied acting at La casa del Teatro and the Nucleus of Theater Studies and the San Cayetano Theater Training Center. Marina mainly focuses on theatre and is also part of the Casa del Teatro teachers' college. She made her theater debut in Sabina Berman's play ‘Happy New Century Doktor Freud’. She has participated in more than 25 productions, including 'Seven Doors'.

Marina has also appeared in movies such as ‘The Zone’ (2007), ‘Love, Pain and Vice Versa’ (2008), ‘Road to Fame’ (2008), ‘Ana and Bruno’ (2017), ‘This is Not Berlin’ (2019), and ‘Reminiscence’ (2021).



 

The rest of the cast include José María Yazpik, Maribel Verdú, Manolo Cardona, Soledad Villamil, Emmy Award winner Željko Ivanek, Jorge López, Alicia Jaziz, Dario Yazbek Bernal, Alicia Sanz, Jack Duarte and Miranda de la Serna.

Apple TV+’s  'Now & Then' will premiere its first three episodes on May 20, with the remaining five dropping individually on Fridays.
