'Tehran' Season 2 on Apple TV+: 5 things you didn't know about Israeli star Niv Sultan
Apple TV+ struck gold with the Israeli spy thriller ‘Tehran’ that took the world by storm with its amazing storytelling and strong acting. The series revolves around a young woman named Tamar Rabinyan (Niv Sultan), who is a Mossad agent and computer hacker on an undercover mission in the Iranian capital to disable a nuclear reactor.
However, a lot of things happen during the mission that makes life worse for Tamar. The ending of Season 1 saw Faraz getting injured and things not going well for Mossad agents. Iran has shot down all their planes, leaving their pilots' lives in balance. The bosses are shocked as they get to learn that their mission is a debacle. A lot of questions still need to get answered and that’s why Season 2 is here.

Niv Sultan as Tamar Rabinyan
Born on September 16, 1992, Niv Sultan began her career in 2017 after serving in the Israel Defense Force. She attended acting classes in Tel Aviv, Israel, and made her debut in the Israeli movie ‘Kimaat Mefursement’. In 2018, she made her TV debut with the series ‘Eilat’ and took the role of Tamar in the 2020 series ‘Tehran’.
After getting acclaimed in Israel, the series was picked up by Apple TV+ and serves as the exclusive streaming home to the series worldwide.
Shaun Toub as Faraz Kamali
Born in Tehran, Shaun Toub moved to England with his family at the age of 2 and then move to the USA to complete his last year of high school. The star made his acting debut with the 1988 movie ‘Out of Time’ and went on to have cameo appearances in ‘Dark Holiday’, ‘Before the Storm’, and ‘Hot Shots! Part Deux’.
In 1995, he also made a guest appearance in Michael Bay’s ‘Bad Boys’ opposite Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. On the other hand, his role in the 2002 movie ‘Live from Baghdad’ earned him good reviews. However, his moment of glory came in 2004 when he was cast as Farhad in the Oscar-winning movie ‘Crash’. Since then, he has been a part of ventures such as ‘The Kite Runner’, ‘Iron Man’, ‘Iron Man 3’, ‘War Dogs’, ‘Homeland’, and ‘Little America’.
Glenn Close as Marjan Montazeri
Glenn Close needs no introduction and her entry into the show takes it to a whole new level. In a career spanning over four decades, Close has given several award-worthy performances and has won numerous accolades. She has been nominated eight times for an Academy Award, holding the record for the most nominations in an acting category without a win.
With her eighth nomination in 2021, she became one of the five most-nominated actresses in Academy history.
Menashe Noy as Meir Gorev
Noy has been a part of Israel’s entertainment industry and has worked on several amazing projects. He began his career in 1991 with short movies and went on to star in his debut feature film in ‘Aya: Imagined Autobiography’. His first major acting role came in 1997 with the TV series ‘The Cameric Five’, a comedy show with comedy sketches.
He has appeared on several acclaimed projects like ‘Made in Israel’, ‘The Bourgeoisie’, ‘Year Zero’, and ‘MK 22’. He won the Best Actor award at the Jerusalem Film Festival for the movie ‘Gett’.
‘The Psychologist’, ‘Our Boys’, ‘Shabas’, and ‘Sad City Girls’ are some of the latest shows that he has appeared on.
Shervin Alenabi as Milad
Born in 1995, in Iran, Shervin Alenabi began his acting career at the age of 14 with the 2011 TV series ‘Time Agent’. In the same year, he was cast as Christian Lean in the show ‘No through Road’. After garnering good reviews for his acting, Alenabi appeared on several shows such as ‘Skins’ and ‘Doctors’. His role in the 2019 movie ‘Baghdad in My Shadow’ helped him in gaining wider recognition and rave reviews from all around the globe.
Since 2020, he has been one of the main cast members of ‘Tehran’.
Liraz Charhi as Yael Kadosh
The Israeli actor-turned-singer started performing at the age of 5 and always wanted to be an actress. She made her debut as stage actress at the Habima National Theatre. Her first acting role came in the TV series titled ‘Ha-Masa’it’ in 2002 and gained further attention after a nomination by the Israeli Film Academy (Ophir Award) for her role in the 2004 film ‘Turn Left at the End of the World’.
The actress made her debut in Hollywood with ‘Fair Garm’, a drama movie starring Sean Penn and Naomi Watts in leading roles. From 2011 to 2013, she appeared in a couple of episodes of Israel’s TV drama ‘Sabri Maranan’.
Apart from being an actor, she is also a celebrated musician and has produced 2 studio albums.
'Tehran' Season 2 will return to Apple TV+ on May 6.
