BEVERLY HILLS, CALIFORNIA: 'RHOBH' debutant Annemarie Wiley has retaliated to the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) who criticized her actions and reactions towards Sutton Stracke's medical condition.

The ASA had condemned Wiley's insensitive remarks regarding Sutton's "small esophagus" and indirectly questioned her credibility as a nurse.

In a series of Instagram stories, Wiley defended herself and turned the spotlight on 'RHOBH'. She explained how the show was responsible for stretching out Sutton's illness storyline excessively.

Wiley argued that the editing and narrative choices made by the reality show contributed to the controversial portrayal of the medical situation, asserting that she was not entirely at fault for the insensitive comments made during the episodes.

“I do not condone the ASA’s defamation campaign. I am a CRNA, a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist,” she wrote. “I am extremely proud of my profession. I will not be accused of title misappropriation because a castmate needed a storyline on a reality TV show. This is my real life and my career.”

“I ask that the ASA, and other Anesthesiologists, show respect to CRNAs as well,” she continued.

“This type of unhealthy discourse only causes friction and professional division. Political issues exist between physician anesthesiologists and CRNAs, which explains their current attack on me and the CRNA profession,” she said.

“My aim is to educate the public on who CRNAs are and what we do in providing the highest quality of anesthesia care to those we serve,” she concluded.

In a follow-up post, Wiley offered an apology for her earlier comments questioning the seriousness of her co-star Sutton Stracke's esophagus condition. She acknowledged that the storyline, which involved Sutton's health, was not something to be taken lightly.

In a more reflective tone, Wiley expressed regret for her previous remarks, acknowledging the sensitivity of the topic and recognizing that it was not appropriate to make light of a serious medical situation.

"That storyline was unauthentically dragged on for far too long, and I have been dragged through the mud in the process," she wrote and added, “I just want to highlight the ‘Real’ in Reality TV.”

What did ASA say to Annemarie Wiley?

The American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) emphasized that they could easily discern authenticity within the medical profession, especially concerning anesthesiologists. They stated how Anesthesiologists are medical doctors who undergo over 12 years of extensive higher education and engage in up to 16,000 hours of clinical training.

According to the ASA, misusing titles has no place in the realm of healthcare, highlighting the importance of accurate representation and qualification within the field.

"The Real Housewives knows a fake. Anesthesiologists are medical doctors with more than 12 years of higher education and up to 16,000 hours of clinical training. Title misappropriation has no place in health care," ASA wrote in its caption.

Did ‘RHOBH’ star Annemarie Wiley apologise to Sutton Stracke?

Even though Anne Marie extended a heartfelt apology to Sutton, expressing that she held Sutton's heart in her hands, it seems Sutton might have taken the apology with a grain of skepticism. Just a few days before the apology, Anne Marie made it clear that she couldn't care less about Sutton's esophagus.

Nonchalantly, she mentioned being a busy woman with no time to dwell on such matters. “I honestly couldn’t care less about Sutton’s esophagus,” the 40-year-old nurse said to Hollywood Life. “I’m a busy person. I don’t have time to be worried about Sutton’s esophagus,” she continued.
