'Nightflyers': Fans are all praise for a five-minute opening scene of George R. R. Martin's novella based SyFy space adventure series
Within just half a day of releasing a five-minute opening snippet of SyFy's upcoming space fantasy slash psychological thriller, 'Nightflyers', the show has managed to garner massive response and hype all over social media. Based on George R. R. Martin's novella by the same name, it was initially announced that the space thriller would revolve more around the book, until later in 2017, when it was revealed that it would follow the book's 1987 film adaptation.
As of now, both the first trailer and this new sneak peek has revealed the dark side of the space, and in a very classic 'Game of Thrones' meets 'The Shining' style, it's filled with blood, gore, and slasher horror complete with an axe murderer. The ensemble cast of the show includes some big and familiar names in the industry, with Jodie Turner-Smith starring as Melantha Jhirl, Gretchen Mol as Dr. Agatha Matheson, Eoin Macken as Karl D’Branin — an astrophysicist and leader of the Nightflyer expedition, and David Ajala as Roy Eris — the reclusive Captain of the Nightflyer.
