'New Amsterdam' Season 3: Will Max and Helen come closer during the pandemic for a better future?
In a time of crisis, we tend to throw caution to the wind and tell people we care about how we truly feel about them. Art seems to imitate life, at least that's how it appears in the latest trailer of 'New Amsterdam' Season 3. Grappling with the massive gaps in the healthcare system that have been laid bare with Covid-19, Max tells Helen that, "I don't want to fix this system. I want to build something better. Something better for my daughter, something better for you."
Well if this came from anyone else, we'd be hearing wedding bells for sure, but let's remember this is Dr Max Goodwin who always thinks of the whole. But that's not stopping Sharpwin fans from hoping Max just wasn't including Helen in a generic statement of hope.

But what can we make of the earlier trailer from Season 3 where we caught a glimpse of Helen dancing with the new addition to the cast Dr Cassian Shin? Well, for Sharpwin fans, they are hoping that a little flirtation won't get in the way of true love or at the very least maybe a little old-fashioned jealousy will spur Max into finally taking this relationship forward with Helen.

The question is, however, while dealing with a pandemic and the challenges of single parenthood, will Max indeed have the time or the mental space to embark on a relationship? Well, if there is anyone he will make the time for, it is Helen. The latest trailer also includes a recap of where Season 2 left us, with Max struggling with single parenthood, Dr Lauren Bloom wondering if her overuse of Adderall has started affecting her memory, and the tension between Dr Iggy Frome and his husband Martin over adopting a child.
Footage of Season 3 in the latest trailer shows how the staff at 'New Amsterdam' are 'tired and hurting' due to the pandemic and how at least one wing of the hospital has been contaminated.
