'New Amsterdam' Season 2 Episode 10: When NBC show returns after fall break, Georgia may not be around and Max needs to help Helen

It remains to be seen if the danger can be averted before it is too late, but for now, we sit tight and wait for January to roll in.

It has been a heavy and dramatic Season 2 of ‘New Amsterdam’ so far, and it ended on the most dramatic cliffhanger yet — well, cliffhangers. There are so many storylines we want to see explored on Season 2 Episode 10 of the NBC series, but a long wait lies ahead of us. The previously aired 'What the Heart Wants' marked the fall finale of the show, and we are impatiently waiting for the show to return with all-new episodes on January 14, 2020.

Since the beginning of the season, we have seen Max (Ryan Eggold) struggle with the loss of his wife Georgia (Lia O'Hare) soon after the birth of their baby. Unable to say goodbye to her, he was living in her memories, even unwilling to wash her bloodstains from his carpets. However, he learned to lean on his friends for help and by the end of the season, we even saw him saying a tearful goodbye to her. He made the realization as much as he wants he can try to change everything that happened, but it cannot be changed.

He is left behind and so is his daughter, and he needs to live his life. Because of this conversation that he had with his late wife, we believe that we may have seen the last of Georgia on the show. She probably might return in pivotal moments of Max's life, or even Luna's after she grows up, but for now, we have just seen the last of her.

Meanwhile, Helen (Freema Agyeman) received one of the biggest shocks of her life, after she was terminated from her role as the co-chair of oncology department and as the deputy medical director for New Amsterdam. We know that she was only taking the illegal route for helping a patient, and while Max recognizes it, no one else seems to care. It remains to be seen how Helen is impacted by this move, and more importantly, what Max is going to do to fix it.

The most dramatic of all events that happened in the episode, however, has to be the murder that is being planned on the show. We saw one fo the inmates that Ryan and Helen brought to New Amsterdam for heroin overdose reveal to her doctor that she has never taken drugs and that someone is trying to kill her. It remains to be seen if the danger can be averted before it is too late, but for now, we sit tight and wait for January to roll in.
