Judd Apatow’s ‘The Bubble’ has finally been released on Netflix and although the movie has a nice concept, the movie fails to pop. The movie revolves around a group of actors that get together to make a dinosaur movie in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic. All the stars have reached England and they are now getting accustomed to all the guidelines and restrictions.

Carol (Karen Gillan) is an actress who left the ‘Cliff Beasts’ franchise for doing another movie that bombed at the box office and received a 4% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Now, she has come on board for the sixth installment of the movie series and they are planning to shoot the movie in England. However, the actors would have to quarantine for 14 days, and only then, they would be starting the shoot. Those 14 days feel like an eternity to Carol and she absolutely loses her mind.

Netflix ‘The Bubble’ Ending Explained: Do Carol and other actors manage to escape?

Apart from Carol, there are several other actors who have returned to the franchise. Dustin (David Duchovny) and Lauren (Leslie Mann) have come together once again to film the movie even though they are divorced. On the other hand, Sean (Keegan-Michael Key) has written a book and people compare it to a cult. Meanwhile, Dieter (Pedro Pascal), an Oscar-winning actor is also trying hard to cope with the process.

One of the cast members, Howie, leaves the production in frustration and the production begins to fall behind schedule.

However, the studio executives don’t listen to their concerns and force the actors to complete the movie. From stopping them to leave the property, Paula (Kate McKinnon), one of the studio’s heads, hires an aggressive security head so that no one even dares to leave the production. Carol realizes that if the cast has to escape the hotel, then they would have to work together. Many ideas come to her mind, but her mental health is deteriorating and she believes that everything is useless. Meanwhile, all other stars are not in a good mental state.

The cast thinks of having a party and while making a TikTok video of them dancing, Dieter suddenly collapses and passes out. While others think that he is dead, his love interest, Anika (Maria Bakalova), gives her a shot of the medicine and brings him back to life. The incident changes everything and the cast realizes that they would have to treat each other as family members. The incident also makes them realize that they have a life outside the movie industry as well and those things are much more important.

The cast gets together and initiates a plan that would give them a chance to exit the project.

The next day, the cast gets on the set to film the climax scene. However, Dustin gets into a quarrel with the movie’s director Darren, allowing others to run from the hotel. The cast members carefully evade Best’s security systems and guards. They arrive at the helipad and prepare to leave in the helicopter. However, they are stopped by Darren who doesn’t want them to leave. Dustin gets rid of Darren and they get into the helicopter, but Sean only knows to fly the helicopter up and down. The cast, together, figures out to maneuver the helicopter and they finally escape the hotel.

The movie ends with the behind-the-scenes footage being released as a documentary and getting rave reviews. The stars attend the premiere and they are once again back to their usual self-obsessed selves. ‘The Bubble’ shows how things are different for the rich and the common people. But it also shows how the pandemic has made us realize how important our loved ones are.
