The 2022 Academy Awards witnessed actor Will Smith slapping comedian Chris Rock during the annual awards show, with the internet exploding with reactions, memes, and different opinions about the incident. Comedian and director Judd Apatow gave his two cents about what happened in a now-deleted tweet.

"He could have killed him. That's pure out-of-control rage and violence. They've heard a million jokes about them in the last three decades. They are not freshman in the world of Hollywood and comedy. He lost his mind," Apatow had tweeted about the Will Smith and Chris Rock incident at the Oscars 2022.

Apatow had tweeted the above in response to a reply defending Smith's reaction, but that wasn't the only tweet he made about the incident. He tweeted against Will Smith multiple times, but users were quick to troll Apatow for his tweets, leading to the 54-year-old deleting them. The 'slapgate' incident occurred after Rock made a joke about Smith's wife actress Jada Pinkett-Smith's "GI Jane" haircut. Smith walked on stage, slapped Rock, and later shouted, "Keep my wife's name out of your f**king mouth."

One user said, "Judd Apatow saying that slap 'could've killed' Chris Rock is so f**king funny lmfao he's Will Smith not One Punch Man." Another quipped, "Judd Apatow's daughter screaming at her dad to shut up before she loses that nepotism bag." A third posted a meme and said, "Judd apatow was talking all his s**t and now all them tweets gone..."

One user commented, "Judd Apatow's b***h a*s talking about Will like he is a serial killer but mute about his friend Lena Dunham who admitted to molesting her sister. Oh the f**king nerve." Another wrote, "Judd Apatow letting every ounce of subtle racism come out at once." A third made a sarcastic comment, "Judd Apatow getting a 13k ratio, the most relevant he's been in a decade lmaoooo."

A fourth user joked, "Judd Apatow getting ratio'd to hell feels like a fitting end to the night! #Oscars," while a fifth said, "Judd apatow talking about violence and rage after a tiny slap but not about continuing to work with james franco after multiple instances of him being violent against women." A sixth quipped, "Judd Apatow revealing that he has never been in a fight in his entire life."

While one user remarked, "Judd Apatow tweeting 'he could've killed him' is worth an arrest," while another questioned, "He could have killed him? Has Judd Apatow ever seen an actual fight before?" A third mentioned, "This is a Judd Apatow hate account. He always has energy for black folks but his white rapist friends are exempt from his public contempt. [thinking face emoji]." A fourth took a dig at Apatow, "Judd Apatow got ratioed so bad he wiped the tweets. Y'all could have killed him."
