The NCIS franchise had returned for less than a month, but a break is already on the schedule for this season. For those looking to cozy up next to another adventure of agents Pride, Gregorio, Khoury and Carter, there will be no new episode of 'NCIS: New Orleans' on CBS tonight. This means added wait and more anxious anticipation surrounding the plot developments left loose at the end of 'NCIS: NOLA' Season 7 Episode 7. Worry not, as the show takes a half month break, CBS has older episodes scheduled for viewers. Read on to find out why there are no new episodes tonight, and which 'NCIS: NOLA' repeat episode to watch out for before the show returns from break.

Why is 'NCIS: NOLA' not airing tonight?

CBS is currently airing this season of NFL's AFC championship and the Buffalo Bills vs Kansas City Chiefs match airing at 6.40 pm ET/PT on January 25. The broadcast will continue for an estimated three hours, as only 'FBI' airs next on CBS at 10 pm. That's this Sunday, but 'NCIS: New Orleans' will be gone next week too. The answer to why probably lies in staled production due to the pandemic all through last year. It's difficult to keep a 22 episode season shot in advance in the guidelines and mandates studios had to accustom to and this is probably why the show is taking time off airing to film newer episodes and return in sets of three.

So far this season, this is the second break the show is going on. Network shows often take random breaks apart from the designated winter break to space out the episodes throughout the designated months on air. But after taking off on December 13, 'NCIS: NOLA' returned three full weeks later on January 3. This time, the show aired last on January 17 with Season 7's Episode 7 'Leda and the Swan Part I', expected not to air for almost a month now.

When will 'NCIS: NOLA' air next?

'NCIS: New Orleans' returns with Season 7's Episode 8 'Leda and Te Swan Part II' on Sunday, February 14, at its 9 pm time slot only on CBS. So far no synopsis has been teased for the episode.

Which 'NCIS: NOLA' episodes will air on CBS instead?

While there's no new episode tonight, on Sunday, January 31, Season 6's Episode 10 'Requital' will air at the show's airtime. The synopsis of the episode reveals: "Pride is cut off from the team and backed into a corner after the investigation into Eddie Barrett (Eddie Cahill) uncovers a malicious plot."
