Why is 'NCIS: NOLA' not airing tonight?

The broadcast will continue for an estimated three hours, as only 'FBI' airs next on CBS at 10 pm. That's this Sunday, but 'NCIS: New Orleans' will be gone next week too. The answer to why probably lies in staled production due to the pandemic all through last year. It's difficult to keep a 22 episode season shot in advance in the guidelines and mandates studios had to accustom to and this is probably why the show is taking time off airing to film newer episodes and return in sets of three.
So far this season, this is the second break the show is going on.
