Here's when 'Days of Our Lives' will return on NBC

According to reports, NBC has planned to replace the show with their new hour-long news show titled ‘NBC News Daily,’ which will be anchored by Kate Snow, Aaron Gilchrist, Vicky Nguyen and Morgan Radford.

Talking about the big move, Mark Lazarus, NBC Universal Television and Streaming chairman, released an official statement, “This programming shift benefits both Peacock and NBC and is reflective of our broader strategy to utilize our portfolio to maximize reach and strengthen engagement with viewers.”

He also added, “With a large percentage of the Days of Our Lives audience already watching digitally, this move enables us to build the show’s loyal fanbase on streaming while simultaneously bolstering the network daytime offering with an urgent, live programming opportunity for partners and consumers.”

‘Days of Our Lives', produced by Corday Productions in association with Sony Pictures Television, is in its 58th, making it the second longest-running daytime drama series in American TV history just behind ABC’s ‘General Hospital.’ The announcement of ‘Days of Our Lives’ moving to Peacock streaming platform from September permanently was dropped by The Hollywood Reporter on their official Twitter handle.

As soon as the news was confirmed, many ardent fans throng Twitter to share their thoughts on it. While majority of them opined how the show is going to be dead in the next few years, others lashed out at the makers for the big move and mentioned that the channel would lose tons of loyal audiences because of same.

“Is this a good thing? Or just a means to cancellation?,” said a fan. “Definitely a drastic move,” said another fan. “When this doesn’t come on NTV anymore what is my Nan gonna do?!!!,” a fan noted. “I just told my great grandmother about this news and she is devastated by this news. Days of Our Lives was her favorite Soap with the others being GH and YR,” shared a fan. “Broadcast TV is dead,” noted a fan. “The state of linear TV right now,” said another fan.
