The 'American Song Contest', which had been in development for several years, ultimately premiered on NBC on March 21, 2022. The reality series is modeled on the global phenomenon 'Eurovision Song Contest', which has been a mega-hit in other countries for the past six decades.
Live original performances by 56 performers from all 50 states, five US territories, and the nation's capital are included in the American edition of the musical competition series. In order to win the title of Best Original Song, each performer competes for votes from the public and jury members.
Season 1 candidates include solo artists, duos, DJs, and bands who cover a wide range of musical genres. Qualifying Rounds, Semi-Finals, and Finals are the three stages of the show.
