The 'American Song Contest', which had been in development for several years, ultimately premiered on NBC on March 21, 2022. The reality series is modeled on the global phenomenon 'Eurovision Song Contest', which has been a mega-hit in other countries for the past six decades.

Live original performances by 56 performers from all 50 states, five US territories, and the nation's capital are included in the American edition of the musical competition series. In order to win the title of Best Original Song, each performer competes for votes from the public and jury members.

Season 1 candidates include solo artists, duos, DJs, and bands who cover a wide range of musical genres. Qualifying Rounds, Semi-Finals, and Finals are the three stages of the show.

Who is Jared Lee?

Jared Lee will be representing the state of Massachusetts. Lee is a singer, songwriter, and platinum-selling producer, who has written and produced for a varied range of internationally known musicians, including Jason Derulo, Jordin Sparks, TIESTO, Michael Bolton, and has gathered well over 80 million streams of online writing and producing. Michael Bolton, a New Haven native, is the show's Connecticut representative. Bolton performed on March 28 and was voted into the semi-finals by the audience.

Some of the world's finest DJs, including Nicky Romero, Markus Schulz, and Fedde Le Grand, have hired Lee to create and perform lead vocals on their original songs. For the movie 'Fantasy Island', Lee composed, produced, and performed the theme song 'Don't Wish Your Life Away'. 'Those Were the Days' with Midnight Kids (number one on the US dance charts), 'Ain't Deep Enough' with Autograf, and 'Afterglow' with Nicky Romero and Gattuso are among his most recent collaborations.

Lee has swiftly won a slew of song placements throughout the television landscape, including NBC, ABC, CBS, ESPN, SHOWTIME, MTV, and NETFLIX, thanks to his unique soulful voice and recognizable falsetto. Back-to-back episodes of FOX's 'American Idol' showed Lee's evident abilities. 'It's Over (Goodbye)' and the emotionally charged 'Beautiful World' presented Lee's unmistakable talents to a freshly developing, and what has proven to be a tremendously dedicated following.

Lee original track 'Professional Lovers', which contains a collection of remixes from MOKITA, an After Hours electric soul version, and an intimate, acoustic stripped piano version was recently released on Billboard. He was invited to play the song at the iHeart Media headquarters in New York earlier this year. In an interview, Lee expressed interest in competing in a reality show for songwriters. He liked the idea and feels privileged to be a part of it.

Catch Jared Lee on 'American Song Contest' which airs Monday nights at 8 on NBC.
