Molly visits Nicci's mother (Meghan Colleen Moroney) under the guise of being a relator to investigate Nicci's past and quickly finds a photo of Nicci's daughter Aurora Prince who remarkably resembles Emma.
She keeps looking into the cause of Aurora's death, but when she senses that Nicci's mother is doubting her true identity, she bids goodbye.
Subsequently, she gives Lindsay (Shailene Garnett) a call and tells her that Nicci pretended to be the new mother who suggested Nicci as a nanny to Molly on the postpartum forum.
In addition, Lindsay apologizes to Molly for not having faith in her and shares the startling information she found out about Nicci.
As it happens, Nicci, a nursing student, is suspected of injecting drugs into her own daughter, thereby killing her.
Lindsay also adds that Nicci's manipulation techniques are the reason Molly is hearing voices and having hallucinations.
Molly rushes to the house after learning that her infant Emma (Iris Hewitt) is with Nicci, which heightens the tension.

Molly was seemingly worried when she got home that Emma wasn't in her room, but she soon sighed with relief when she saw Noah.
Molly blows up and tells Noah all the dark secrets she discovered about Nicci but he clearly interprets this as a sign of her mental instability.
Nicci notes that Lindsay is the one who is putting ideas into Molly's head when Molly asks Noah to question Lindsay about the same thing.
Molly who can't take any more, takes Emma to the other room, where Noah comforts her, tells her to take her medication, and takes Emma with him.
Later, Noah discovers Molly has vanished and hurries to find her. He had no idea that Molly was watching all of this from a hiding place. However, she too is taken aback upon finding the lifeless body of Dr. Waldron (Cheryl Frazier).
Sensing that Nicci killed Dr. Waldron, Molly rushes back with a knife in hand to get Emma, and Nicci follows.
Nicci quickly grabs Emma but is left shocked to learn that it was a deception as Emma wasn't there. Taking advantage of the situation, Molly pushes the nanny off the stairs, rendering her unconscious.
Later, Lindsay shows up, assuming Nicci has passed away and consoles Molly, but she doesn't acknowledge her assertion that she revealed secrets about Nicci; instead, she acts as though the exchange never took place.
Molly is about to pass Emma to Lindsay but quickly realizes that her best friend is lying. In a bizarre turn of events, Lindsay's true intentions are made clear when she begins to cut herself with Molly's knife.
It turns out that she was the one manipulating Molly all along as she was the one who was envious of Molly's contented life. Molly freezes in shock at her best friend's betrayal, only to find Linday poised to attack her.
Unexpectedly, Nicci wakes up and hits her with a syringe, effectively attacking her and making her unconscious.
When the police arrive later, Nicci tells Molly and Noah that she wants to spend time with Emma as she misses her baby Aurora.
She also won the trust of Molly and Noah when she claimed that Lindsay, not Molly, was the one who had pushed her, earning the couple's gratitude.
