LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Adam Sandler has cracked the code of creating great films that calms the chaos of a difficult day or becomes a great addition to your binge-watching weekends. Comedy has changed its course through the years, but something that has always stayed relevant and simple yet fun is Adam Sandler's films. His movies are highly relatable as they bring back the old-school fun of the comedy genre, taking simple elements from everyday life and creating a masterpiece out of it. 'Murder Mystery 2' is one such movie.

The Netflix film is not only flavorful in terms of humor but also has a star-studded cast list. It is the second addition to its supposed franchise. And as you might know, Netflix holds a movie deal with Adam Sandler, and 'Murder Mystery 2' is one on the list along with its prequel. Adam Sandler has proven himself to be a big hit on Netflix and the streaming giant signed the actor for a whopping $250 million four-movie deal.

Jumping right into the story

Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston are clearly having a blast creating a feel-good movie. The on-screen chemistry is palpable and creates a great vibe that brings the film to its greatest potential. It seems absurd that Sandler and Aniston didn't make a movie all these years, knowing they work well together and their partnership in the movie is very believable. The movie is in continuation of its first part. Audrey and Nick Spitz have started their own detective business, but are failing hard at it. Things seem bright when the couple is invited to a royal wedding by Maharajah (Adeel Akhtar) on a remote island. But, things go south, when Audrey and Nick Spitz become suspects in the kidnapping of the Maharajah, which leads them to put their detective caps on and chase the actual bad guy to clear their name (Yes, just like the last movie). The best thing about this movie is the fact that Sandler doesn't wait for characters to be introduced and brings the audience to understand what each character's goal is. Rather, the film jumps straight into the story which is enjoyable enough on its own to get us where we need to be.

'Murder Mystery' with no Murder

The movie gives out the classic 'Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery' vibes. The movie picks up when the entire supporting cast comes together, including the Colonel (John Kani), the bride-to-be Claudette (Mélanie Laurent), the Countess Sekou (Jodie Turner-Smith), the retired soccer player Francisco (Enrique Arce), and the Maharajah’s sister Saira (Kuhoo Verma), just like in the first movie. The group dynamics work well, and the back-and-forth helps to create some of the film’s few laugh-out-loud moments. But, without the murder. Yes, there is no murder in the film, although it is mentioned in the title that it is expected. Sandler's quirkiness and Aniston's save-the-world attitude keep the movie tight and don't make you feel like you have to solve the mystery. However,  the fun chase sequence set in the Eiffel Tower makes the movie a complete package. All in all 'Murder Mystery 2' is a great comedy if you are looking to watch something fun that doesn't let you overthink things.

'Murder Mystery 2' is now available to stream exclusively on Netflix.
