MTV VMAs 2021: Travis Scott thanks Stormi in winning speech, but snubs Kylie Jenner

The ‘Sicko Mode’ hitmaker bagged the award for his track ‘Franchise’ that also featured Young Thug and M.I.A.

Some of the top global musicians descended on the red carpet at the 2021 edition of MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) held at Barclays Center in New York. While artists like Justin Bieber, Olivia Rodrigo and Lil Nas X won big at the coveted award ceremony, rapper Travis Scott hoisted the hip-hop flag as he won Best Hip-Hop on Sunday, September 12.

The ‘Sicko Mode’ hitmaker scooped the award for his track ‘Franchise’ that also featured Young Thug and M.I.A. The 30-year-old rapper was also up for Best Direction for the same song. To win his Moon Person trophy, Travis had to beat industry stalwarts like Polo G, Moneybagg Yo, Cardi B, and rap icon Drake. While accepting his speech, the Texas native thanked his three-year-old daughter Stormi but did not mention Kylie Jenner with whom he is expecting his second child. This led to a meme fest as social media users trolled Travis brutally for snubbing Kylie and also not talking about his second child.

Travis Scott thanks Stormi but snubs Kylie Jenner in speech

Looking dapper in a black suit, Travis while accepting the Moon Person trophy gave a lovely shoutout to Stormi but did not speak about his love interest, Kylie Jenner. "I first want to thank God, my mom, Stormi. All the amazing fans out there-I love you all so much. We couldn't do it without you all." Interestingly, Kylie was in the same city for the New York Fashion Week and still did not mark her attendance at the award show. However, the reality star extended her support just prior to Travis giving his speech by sharing a screenshot of the rapper holding the trophy on her Instagram stories. Speaking on the same, a rep for Jenner spilled the beans to Page Six revealing, “She was never going.”  Travis and Jenner had recently split and soon the rumors followed that the duo was in an open relationship. And, most recently Jenner announced that she was expecting her second child with Travis.

After winning the award, Travis then soon logged into Twitter revealing how he was going to get wasted in order to celebrate his big win. He first posted a tweet that appeared to a lot of users as if he was making out with Kylie Jenner. “Ahhhhhhhhhh fuc**jkkkk ahhhhhh ahhh f**k.” Travis got severely trolled as many said he was getting a good head from Kylie Jenner after the award show. He then followed it up with another post reading, “Chase slime Mia David sick Tyler Wifey. I love yallll ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Im about to get wasted.”

Social media users thronged to Twitter to clown Travis Scott over his recent mishap. One user said, “Travis Scott did a monologue about love at the end of his VMA acceptance speech but didn’t thank his own girlfriend. So classically straight man I can’t even handle it.” Another one posted, “Travis Scott put everyone but Kylie in his speech. F**king fake.”
 
The next one posted about his recent tweet and said, “Kylie Jenner going sicko mode on his d**k rn." One said, “So @trvisXX didn’t mention Kylie or his unborn child in his thank you speech” followed by an emoticon of a laughing face. Meanwhile, another added, “The only reason you win is because @KylieJenner is pregnant.” And, one individual asserted, “Where is Kylie Jenner? Do U just want her to have kids?” Another chimed in and concluded while referring to Zendaya’s movie ‘Malcolm & Marie’ saying, “Also… Travis Scott thanking everyone except Kylie in his acceptance speech is giving very much Malcolm&Marie”
