'Moonbase 8': Release date, plot, cast and all you need to know about the NASA comedy on Showtime
If you thought 'Space Force' was hilarious, you have another space comedy to binge on this fall. Jana Winograde, the president of entertainment at Showtime Networks Inc., said in a press release, "In a year when we have all been forced to come to terms with life in close quarters, we are happy to have landed this offbeat take on life in captivity with dreams of escaping to something grander. While the show was produced before the pandemic, its subject matter is timely — and thanks to Fred, Tim, John and Jonathan, its humor is timeless." The six-episode series will premiere on November 8 at 11 pm ET/PT.
Plot
According to Showtime's press release, the series "is a workplace comedy that follows three subpar astronauts living at NASA's Moon Base Simulator with high hopes of being chosen to travel to the moon."

Fred Armisen
Armisen is known for his many works such as 'Portlandia,' his role as Tino in 'Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy' (2004) and a pastor in 'Easy A' (2010). His most recent works include 'Elena of Avalor' (2020), 'Big Mouth' (2017-2020), 'Sorta Like a Rock Star' (2020) and 'Too Late' (2020) which is in post-production.
Tim Heidecker
Heidecker is known for his writing credits in 'Tim & Eric's Bedtime Stories' (2013-2017) and 'Check It Out! with Dr. Steve Brule' (2010-2017) and his role as Swanson in 'The Comedy' (2012). His recent roles include 'Beef House' (2020), 'Truthpoint' (2020) and 'The Seventh Annual 'On Cinema' Oscar Special' (2020).
John C Reilly
Reilly is known for his roles as Amos Hart in 'Chicago' (2002), Corpsman Dey in 'Guardians of the Galaxy) (2014), Dewey Cox in 'Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story' (200) and Reed Rothchild in 'Boogie Nights' (1997).
