Monsta X drops 'One Day' from 2nd English album as they win 'Best Artist in the USA'
After Monsta X’s last mini-album, ‘One of a Kind’, released under their label Starship Entertainment on June 1, fans were met with the sad news that the group's leader, Shownu, was to enlist in the military. On July 22, the other five members of Monsta X bid adieu to their leader as they started a bittersweet tradition where the next youngest member in line to enlist would shave off the hair of the one currently enlisting. Since the news about the group’s new release ‘One Day’, Monbebes started wondering if they would be able to hear or see their beloved leader Shownu one last time before he returned from the military.

Monsta X starts bittersweet tradition with Shownu departing as 1st member to enlist in military
About ‘One Day
On September 10, Monsta X pre-released their new song 'One Day on music sites around the world. According to Starship Entertainment, 'One Day' is an album that Shownu finished producing before enlisting in the military. The song talks about the boys being in a time they thought they would feel better even though they believed they were trapped in a negative feeling and were not able to move on.

Fans can hear members Minhyuk, Kihyun, and Shownu sing “They say hindsight's 20/20”, which more strongly emphasizes the thoughts in their heads. "Hindsight is 20/20" is a proverb that means it is easy to understand something after it has already happened. People tend to use the expression as a response to any admonishment that the person should have known something would happen, or that the person made a bad decision.
With this song, the boys are calling their love a bad decision, but as dedicated lovers, members of Monsta X are still sticking on to the hope that ‘One Day’ they will be reunited with their significant other. The music video for 'One Day' will release on September 11 at 12 am KST (11 am ET) on Monsta X's official social media channels.

Monsta X is well-known for its dominance of the global market as the boys have been playing a pivotal role in the influx of attention to K-pop from prominent international fans. Due to this global dominance the boys had their first regular album in the United States, 'All About Luv', released in February last year, and which ranked at the top of various Billboard charts and achieved amazing results.
On September 10, the members took to Twitter to thanks fans for their love and support as the group was awarded the title of ‘The Best Artist in the USA’ at the sixth annual ‘Top Ten Awards.’ On receiving the trophy, the members said, “No. 1 in the US. The arrival of the award certificate. Thanks for the award. Sending you love and support. Thank you monbebe.”

Minhyuk is the host of Naver Now’s show ‘The Boyfriend Show’; while members Hyungwon and Jooheon are the DJs for the current season of MBC’s ‘Idol Radio 2’; members Kihyun and I.M are working on projects with Naver Now.
