American thriller web series, 'Messiah' by Michael Petroni is coming to Netflix on New Year's. Already making a buzz, the show is highly speculated to be controversial and educational — a modern portrayal of the coming of a Messiah.
The story's premise — colliding between unknowns with divine power and deception, a CIA officer is set to be on a global mission undercover.

Plot
Exploring the themes of religion, expected politics and the limits of faith, it follows the reaction of modern-day people to the appearance of a man in the Middle East who claims to be the Messiah. The perceptions of all characters are played out — a CIA agent, a preacher and his daughter, a refugee and the media.

Mehdi Dehbi
Mehdi Dehbi plays Al-Massih (Dehbi) — the central character — and is known for his roles in 'The Other Son' (2012), 'Mary Queen of Scots' (2013), and 'A Most Wanted Man' (2014).
Michelle Monaghan
Michelle Monaghan plays the role of Eva Geller, a US intelligence officer, who goes undercover to prove and prosecute the man that not only has more than a few followers but whose influences seem to be growing. With two episodes of 'Young Americans' (2000), she made her debut on TV and made her big-screen debut as Henrietta in 'Perfume' (2001). She is known for her role in 2002 in TV series as Kimberly Woods in 'Boston Public' (2000).
