The film is directed by SJ Clarkson and features Dakota Johnson in the title role. It is the first female-led 'Spider-Man' spinoff and takes place in a standalone universe.

What is the plot of 'Madame Web'?

After a near-death experience in her job as a paramedic, Cassandra Webb confesses to a doctor that she's experiencing visions of the future. She begins to encounter a trio of teenage friends and the man trying to kill them, whom she identifies as Ezekiel Sims (Rahim).

She then realizes that she and the teenagers are connected. They unite to try to prevent Ezekiel from destroying a future in which the teens seem to grow their superpowers.

The official synopsis reads, "Madame Web tells the standalone origin story of one of Marvel publishing's most enigmatic heroines. Forced to confront revelations about her past, [Casandra] forges a relationship with three young women destined for powerful futures...if they can all survive a deadly present."

Is 'Madame Web' worth watching?

This is the first female-led film in Sony's Spider-Man Universe and there's absolutely no reason why one shouldn't watch this cinematic marvel.

This 'Spider-Man' spin-off is set in a standalone universe separate from the 'Venom' movies and the Tom Holland-led 'Spider-Man' series. Therefore, it won't be a FOMO situation for those who haven't watched the previous ones.

The trailer has been perfectly cut creating a sense of thrill among the viewers.
