What is 'Sisu' about?

The sense of irrational tenacity you have when you are suddenly up against overwhelming odds is called 'Sisu' in Finnish. The official synopsis of the movie reads, "When an ex-soldier who discovers gold in the Lapland wilderness tries to take the loot into the city, Nazi soldiers led by a brutal SS officer battle him."

The movie's trailer makes it clear that there is more to it than first appears. When the gold digger comes across some Nazi soldiers, who of course quickly learn what he is carrying, his life becomes much more difficult. Afterward, when everyone battles for the gold and many Nazis get destroyed, it's pretty much John Wick time. 'Sisu', therefore, provides some intense action moments in addition to a compelling premise, making for an unforgettable experience.
