'Legacies' Season 2 Episode 11: MG loses Kym and fans are sad he was robbed of his happiness again
MG's (Quincy Fouse) misfortune in the dating department on 'Legacies' is quite well-known by now. After all, the young vampire's affection for Lizzie Saltzman(Jenny Boyd) has gone unreciprocated for nearly two seasons now.
However, we (much like the viewers) thought MG would get a chance to move on in this season. At the beginning of Season 2, we met Kym (Ebboney Wilson) -- Kaleb's (Chris Lee) sister -- when Kaleb and MG were spending their summer in Atlanta. Kym and MG hit it off -- much to Kaleb's displeasure -- however, MG was still very much in love with Lizzie.
When Sebastian (Thomas Doherty) showed up, however, MG must have realized it was high time he moved on. Luckily, Kym showed up at Mystic Falls to become Dorian's teaching assistant at the Salvatore School. She's pretty good too, often helping the Super Squad identify which monster was attacking them each week.
In this week's episode of 'Legacies', MG is set to go on his first date with Kym. Unfortunately, when Hope learns that Alyssa Chang (Olivia Liang) has a crush on MG, she enlists his help in getting Alyssa to confess where the Ascendent is so that she can bring the Saltzmans back from the Prison World. Hope had stabbed Alyssa with Pothos's "obsession" arrow to get her to divulge the information and as such, Alyssa certainly gets quite thirsty for MG. During the pool date that was meant for Kym, Alyssa unendingly hits on MG.
Finally, MG confesses that he actually likes Kym. Angered, Alyssa then goes hunting down the human as both Kaleb and MG run to protect her. Alyssa puts a slowdown spell on the two as she wields an ax and tries to kill Kym. Kym is able to hold her own, however, and is even able to knock Alyssa out just in time. Then the witch decides that if she can't have MG, then no one can and so goes to stake him as MG in slow-mo gapes at her.
While Alyssa's interests might have shifted from MG (Kaleb better watch his back), Kym decides to leave the school after she was nearly "sliced in half". However, MG and Kym do share a kiss before the latter departs.
Fans were quite disappointed with the turn of events. Most had hoped that MG would find love in Kym after being repeatedly rejected by Lizzie. One fan wrote, "Raf + Mg deserve all the mf love in the world is soooo sick of this s**t man #Legacies."
A viewer asked, "When is MG ever going to get the girl #Legacies?" Another fan tweeted, "Can y'all just let my man Mg be Happy!?!?!?!?!?! IS THAT TOO MUCH TOO ASK!?!?!?!"
'Legacies' airs on The CW on Thursday nights at 9/8c.
