'Legacies' season 2: Fans praise premiere episode and find new couple 'Jandon' surprisingly cute

Fans are heartbroken for Hope as she comes back to a world where no one remembers her.

'Legacies' returned for its second season with a bang, with both Twitter and Reddit exploding with fans' takes and comments about the premiere episode. In an episode where much happened -- Josie and Landon got together, Hope comes back, Josie and Lizzie learn about the Ascendant -- fans found a lot of moments to focus on, especially those with Hope Mikaelson.

Josie and Landon spent a lot of time together over the summer and we also got a cute montage scene of this. While many were appalled at the fact that two people who liked Hope so dearly would end up dating, when the episode finally aired, many felt that the Jandon pairing was actually cute. To summarize the reaction, one viewer wrote on Reddit, "Everyone was doubting this ship before it was even shown, and it seemed like everyone was just jumping on that hate bandwagon. Now that I have seen it, I actually kinda liked it. Probably because I felt bad for both of them because they were so lonely during the summer and really only had each other."

There are those who are wary as they believe Hope and Landon will reunite, with one fan saying, "They’re not as nauseating as I thought they would be, but Hope and Landon will end up together and poor Josie will be heartbroken."

Fans are also worried about Alaric who has been booted out as the Headmaster of the Salvatore School (The CW)

Fans are happy about Lizzie working on herself and going to therapy. One viewer tweeted, "I am happy that Lizzie is taking care of herself and going to therapy and dealing with things. I have to admit I didn't quite like her last season but I love character development so who knows she might grow on me." Fans are also worried about Alaric who has been booted as the Headmaster of the Salvatore School when he was voted out 3-1. While the episode hinted that Dorian might have voted against him, fans are speculating that Dorian is the only person who voted to keep Alaric, meaning that Josie voted against her father.

Hope and Landon in happier times in Season 1 of 'Legacies' (The CW)

We also got scenes with Hope and Clarke together and viewers are loving the character dynamics between them. One fan tweeted, "I sense the chemistry between Hope and Clarke. I mean, when I thought he was really saving her from that hole thingy. #legacies." On Clarke and the actor who portrays him, Nick Fink, one fan wrote on Reddit, "Nick Fink was so amazing. I have to say this previously I just liked him but now I love him. Ryan Clarke is such an interesting character. I enjoyed each and every scene. He literally portrays Ryan so nicely that you can see it in his facial expressions. I love this new bad boy."

What upset fans most was Hope returning to a world that does not remember her. The scenes where she comes across Landon kissing Josie and where she conjured up a fake Landon especially broke their hearts. One fan wrote how Julie Plec "has once again succeeded in making me cry over Hope Mikaelson". Another wrote, "Hope conjures up a magical Landon to talk about her situation through but it only hurts her in the end. Awe legacies you always make my heart bleed but in a good way! Season 2 feels!" Another fan took it to a new level when they tweeted, "Thanks, Julie Plec. I think I'll name this special emotional trauma after you! Dysplecia: the emotional trauma of watching Hope endure hell, then escape to find that her loved ones have moved on without her. Leaving her, once again, alone."

'Legacies' airs on The CW on Thursday nights.
