'Legacies' Season 2 Episode 5: Will Josie discovering Penelope's journal end her relationship with Landon?
Viewers knew that the world of Mystic Falls would be very different when Hope jumped into the Malivore pit at the end of last season. What they did not expect, however, was Landon - Hope's boyfriend - and Josie - Hope's friend who used to have a crush on her - would end up being a couple.
Right from the beginning, viewers were conflicted about the pairing - many cringed, some found "Jandon" adorable. But one thing we have all noticed is how Landon has brought out Josie's jealous side - from making another witch's nose bleed for flirting with Landon, to asking Landon to ram into Hope during their flag football game.
Josie obviously noticed the chemistry between Hope and Landon but she does not know why it's there or Hope's significance to Landon or even to herself. But all that is about to change. During this week's episode, Josie found the journal Penelope gave her before she left.
To recall from Season 1, Penelope handed out enchanted pens to the whole school, as a result of which whatever they wrote with those pens were copied into this particular journal as well. Penelope gave it to Josie so the latter could learn about the Merge, but it turns out that this journal is the gift that keeps giving.
On discovering Landon had written "A Song About Hope" - though about the girl or the feeling, we do not know - Josie postpones her special night with him, which leaves her with an awful amount of time to reacquaint herself with who Hope is through the journal.
Most likely, Josie is going to read about what Hope means to Landon since we also learned that Landon likes to journal as well. Journaling has been a recurrent thing since the first season of 'The Vampire Diaries' and it will be interesting to see how much Josie learns.
Of course, the question is whether Josie will keep what she learns to herself or tell Landon about it. Will learning about what Hope and Landon meant to each other cause her double down on her relationship with Landon or perhaps let him go? Will she still be hostile towards Hope or will she try and be friendly in an effort to be what they used to be?
