Kim Garam’s situation has become the talk of the town as the K-pop idol has finally gone on hiatus after fans and non-fans pleaded with HYBE to keep her away from the spotlight. The 16-year-old Le Sserafim member was embroiled in a serious school bullying controversy as alleged victims claimed that she had physically assaulted classmates and had gotten into gang fights. With May 19 being the turning point where a law firm revealed details of their client’s evidence against Garam, HYBE shared that she would go on a hiatus as they tried to resolve her case and prove her innocence.

Well with Le Sserafim now promoting with only five members, the general public is praising the girl group and claiming that their performances are much better without Garam present. It has become a daily occurrence for Knetizens to applaud Le Sserrafim’s OT5 (five members) stages over the past week. Well, to report on that, KBS released a video to talk about Garam’s hiatus, Le Sserafim’s five-member performances and also mentioned another girl group – IVE.

KBS creates a clickbait video to talk about Garam’s hiatus

On May 27, KBS released a YouTube video with a thumbnail consisting of all six Le Sserafim members. However, they had edited out Kim Garam to only show her silhouette. In the actual video, they then compared the praise of OT5 stages to Wonyoung and Yujin being the only attention-worthy members of IVE. Fans were upset that KBS had insulted the remaining members of IVE and had stooped low to use Garam’s controversy for a clickbait thumbnail and video for views.

This is not the first time that netizens have slammed the broadcast station. Previously, KBS had come under fire for allegedly rigging Le Sserafim’s win on their music show Music Bank. Knetizens had gone as far as to report the case to the National Police Agency to investigate Music Bank’s alleged foul play.

‘KBS needs to apologize’

Both Le Sserafim and IVE fans have banded together to demand an apology from KBS which has now taken down the video. One fan said, “KBS NEEDS TO APOLOGIZE TO IVE AND LE SSERAFIM FOR DOING BOTH GROUPS DIRTY.” Another wondered, “Please let's not get that far, they also shaded Le Sserafim. I bet they just wanted to start a fanwar between the two group.” One angry IVE fan tweeted, “May i remind you, f**king KBS, that wonyoung is your mc & she brings a lot to your channel? you disrespected IVE & u really think you’re gonna get away with this? the f**king audacity. you need to apologize now.”

These girls aren’t here for you to use them as a source of drama. Apologize KBS and apologize now.” One fan was frustrated, “What the f**k kbs why is everyone setting ssera girls up…”
