It was all drama and cringe in the season opener of 'Joe Millionaire: For Richer or Poorer'. With the two men, Kurt Sowers and Steven McBee getting to slowly know the women with hopes that they could choose, those were dashed to the earth pretty quickly with some intense emotions running out of control. Both bachelors were asked to take the women split into groups and were asked to go to a fancy ball with Kurt, while the rest of the gang would go to a country-style party with Steven.

While the ladies had quite the fun at the bar, the same couldn't be said for the women at the ball. For starters, Kurt had to contend with watching some of the women tear each other apart. Rachel had too much to drink and Calah Jackson made quite the first impression with Kurt by playing the piano and the man later sucking some cake off her thumb. This sent jolts of insecurity to women who already were peeved at the fact that Calah was getting a lot of attention from Kurt. The evening ended on a damp note with all the bickering and crying disappointing the man.
