The recently released Netflix documentary series, ‘Tiger King’, became a pop culture phenomenon and stirred up a lot of controversy in the last two weeks. And now, Investigation Discovery channel is picking up on the events that followed, making headway into an all-new series and has roped in Joe Exotic in a contract to frontline the same. Titled, ‘Investigating the Strange World of Joe Exotic’, the series is reported to explore the disappearance of Jack “Don” Lewis, first husband of Joe's nemesis Carole Baskin.

Since the release of ‘Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness’, Joe received a lot of backlash from various people in the entertainment industry, and most importantly, his rival, Carole Baskin. Baskin was accused by Joe in the disappearance of her husband, Jack “Don” Lewis back in 1997. However, she denied any allegations as mentioned in the documentary.

Now with the upcoming series on Investigation Discovery, Joe will participate in an “investigation” that will “take a deeper dive into the crime”. The network describes the series as a “definitive sequel” or a spinoff of the Netflix docuseries.

For context, Jack Lewis went off the radar in 1997, for which Joe Exotic accused Carole Baskin of foul play and claiming that she had involvement in her husband’s disappearance and alleged murder.

As shared by the network, the show will look at the case from Joe's perspective and follow “the investigation you didn’t get to see, revealing the secrets only Joe knows, the exclusive footage that has never been shown and the search to answer the one question every person in America is asking themselves right now: although she’s denied it, is Carole Baskin responsible for the disappearance of her husband, Don Lewis?”

‘Investigating the Strange World of Joe Exotic’ is produced by Conveyor Media, with Theresa McKeown and Colin Whelan serving as executive producers.

The release date of the upcoming investigation series is yet to be declared by the network since Joe Exotic is currently in custody for violating wildlife laws and attempt to murder (by hire) Carole Baskin.
