LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: It is a joyous day for 'Wednesday' fans as it has officially become the second most popular English language series on Netflix. The Jenna Ortega starrer has become a massive hit, also thanks to the iconic dance moves Ortega showed off in the series which later started trending after it was synced with a fan-made fast version of the chorus of Lady Gaga's 'Bloody Mary' on TikTok.

Regardless, it has managed to break viewership records for the streamer, while bagging two Golden Globe nominations. Jenna Ortega, who plays Wednesday Addams in the series, has been called as a rising star. The series has overtaken 'Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story' for the second-place spot. Ryan Murphy's true-crime series had left everyone stunned after it got one billion views although 'Wednesday' quickly dethroned it. Furthermore, four out of the eight episodes are directed by the legendary Tim Burton, who also serves as executive producer of the Netflix series.

'Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story' becomes third Netflix series to surpass 1 billion hours viewed

'Stranger Things' star Sadie Sink opens up on why 'The Whale' is the project she is most proud of

According to Variety, the Tim Burton-helmed series is now the third program on the platform to have garnered over a billion hours viewed within a month. 'Squid Game' and 'Stranger Things 4' remain the only two other programs to have achieved this distinction. Furthermore, the 'Dahmer' achieved 856.2 million hours in its first 28 days, although let us not be too quick to jump to any conclusions as 'Wednesday' still has another week to garner more views. The series also recently became the first English-language Netflix series to surpass 400 million hours streamed in a week. Two milestones in one week? Impressive to say the least.

In addition to outperforming the docu-series 'Harry & Meghan' on Netflix's Top 10 list, the series also managed to amass 269,670,000 hours viewed between December 5 and 11.

However, if you have still not watched the series, it stars Jenna Ortega as the titular character, with Catherine Zeta-Jones as her mother Morticia, Luis Guzman as her father Gomez, Isaac Ordonez as her brother Pugsley, Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester along with Gwendoline Christie, Riki Lindhome, Jamie McShane and Christina Ricci appearing in supporting roles.

You can stream 'Wednesday' on Netflix.
