IVE fans support Wonyoung as she trends for 'bad attitude' towards NCT's Jaemin
IVE may be a three-week-old rookie group but they are in the news for all kinds of reasons. They first turned heads after it was announced that beloved IZ*ONE members Ahn Yujin and Wonyoung would be debuting in the new girl group. IVE's entry into the K-pop industry was with a bang as their debut single album was an immediate success. ‘Eleven’ had the highest first-week sales for a debut album by a 2021 group. However, they have also been surrounded by controversies from copying Everglow's greeting and cultural appropriation to Wonyoung’s alleged laziness and ‘bad attitude’.
IVE was dubbed ‘super rookies’ by fans as they became the fastest girl group to win a music show and ended up bagging five wins with a single which even some established K-pop acts have failed to do. They got their first award nomination a day after their debut at the Seoul Music Awards 2022, got their first #1 on a Billboard chart two weeks after debut and became the fastest K-pop girl group to reach a peak of 3.1 million Spotify monthly listeners in three weeks.

Wonyoung slammed for her attitude
We also have IVE’s member Wonyoung constantly going viral for her doll-like features and amazing proportions. However, with fame comes haters and antis. Due to her coy expression, many dubbed her the ‘next Jennie’, as the Blackpink member has often been a target for hate due to her visuals. Similarly, haters were quick to compare Jennie and Wonyoung as the latter’s performance at ‘Music Bank’ was not up to par for many and called lazy just like Jennie’s infamous Coachella stage. While both idols are far from lazy, haters have tried to find all kinds of reasons to troll them.
Wonyoung was first slammed for her dancing for IVE’s ‘Music Bank’ stage as she was not moving as quickly or with the same energy as the other members. Fans explained that could have been due to her intricate hairstyle and the fact that idols are always told to look pretty when the camera is focusing on them. And now, many are trending ‘Wonyoung bad attitude’ due to her interaction with NCT’s Jaemin.
IVE's fifth win
After IVE got their fifth win at 'Music Core', NCT's Jaemin who is the MC was supposed to give the usual ending speech. However, Wonyoung cut in and gave her acceptance speech for IVE's win. Additionally, while it is custom to bow one's head when colleagues are leaving, none of the IVE members greeted Jaemin or Stray Kids' Lee Know who is also an MC. But whether they were noticed or not, the two MCs bowed their heads to IVE and exited the stage. However, the girl group greeted the third MC Kim Minju who was previously in IZ*ONE with Yujin and Wonyoung. This is why a lot of people are slamming IVE for disrespecting their seniors while also calling Wonyoung rude for cutting off Jaemin.
Clips of Wonyoung interviewing NCT 127 at another music show where she is an MC, and looking away as they bow to her also started circulating. But fans are supporting IVE and Wonyoung by citing that it was just a simple mistake done by the rookie group and should not have warranted such a harsh reaction. They claimed that most of the comments were by antis and those jealous of IVE's success.
‘It was a simple mistake’
Fans are trying to trend ‘Wonyoung best girl’ as they made tweets like, “People who comment insults to wonyoung and ive, dont you guys also realize that you have a bad attitude and no manners? do some self reflection before commenting something.” Another shared, “Or maybe you’re just jealous she got to interact with your fav so you take and cut clips without context and proceed to label her as having bad attitude?? wonyoung is korea’s IT girl and people are just envious of her achieving so much at a young age lmao.” We had users making sarcastic comments, “Jennie and Irene passing down the torch of it-girlification yassss.”
But fans pointed out, “Kpop stans searching "wonyoung bad attitude" on twitter... here you go i hope you can all sleep at night and pretend to be a nice person in front of your family and friends after bullying a girl on the internet.” Another fan said, “No bcos im actually fuming. wonyoung ACCIDENTALLY cut off jaemin, that doesn't mean she has a bad attitude or no manners. it was a simple MISTAKE. as for the bowing they bowed to the mcs when they got their award. they probably just forgot to bow when the mcs left.”
