Midzys (Itzy’s fandom) have been waiting forever for Itzy to release their first studio album and now it’s finally here. Since their debut in 2019, the 5-member girl group has released four EPs and two single albums. They released their fourth EP ‘Guess Who’ with the lead single ‘In The Morning’ four months ago that was certified platinum. The lead single too charted at #3 on Billboard. And expectations are high for their first studio album ‘Crazy In Love’.

JYP Entertainment not only announced the girl group’s first album, ‘Crazy In Love’ will have six versions, one for each member and the last one being a group version. With pre-orders beginning last month, fans have been eager to get their hands on all six versions. Itzy has also been gradually teasing the album by going live and dropping an official trailer that gives us a glimpse of the concept. We will also get two music videos, one for ‘Loco’ and one for ‘Swipe’.

'Crazy In Love' trailer

Itzy dropped the first official trailer for ‘Crazy In Love’ on September 5 and it has already garnered 1M views on YouTube. Full of pastel pink colors and tropical bass sounds, the fun trailer shows the girls doing different activities. While Yeji is baking in a kitchen that is on fire, Yuna seems to be referencing Cruella de Vil. Walking three huge dalmatians in a mansion she sports black and pink fur.

Lia’s scene gave us an even better idea of the song and music video as we see her highlighting words like ‘love’ in a book. Fans realized that the book was Sophie Kinsella’s ‘Love Your Life’, where the female lead gets fed up with online dating and travels to Italy to find love. Fans also believe that the girls might have spoiled ‘Loco’s lyrics as we see them in a magazine featuring Yuna. They even made theories wondering if the girls represent different types of love like Yeji is ‘out of control, Lia is ‘blinded by love’, Ryujin is ‘addiction’, Chaeryeong is ‘loco’ for herself and Yuna is ‘obsession’.

Ryujin’s part is pretty futuristic with a holographic scene and balloons with her text messages written on them. Chaeryeong ended up trending on Twitter for her visuals as she seems to be a Makeup YouTuber posing in front of an LED ring light and dancing. As Ryujin gets tired of waiting for a reply back, the girls are then seen destroying their props and anything related to love. They end up standing in front of a billboard that says ‘Crazy In Love’. The girls also went live after the trailer dropped and claimed that the billboard scene wasn’t CGI.

'Can't wait anymore'

Midzys loved the trailer full of pop-art visuals and the bubblegum pink aesthetic. One fan tweeted, “Lia's outfit on the teaser is giving me Wannabe vibes.” Excited fans also made posts like, “The production for itzy’s first full album comeback is very big…. The set up, the aesthetics, the props, and also big venues are used. This is really going to be the best itzy mv we’ll witness. I can’t wait anymore!” and “ITZY "CRAZY IN LOVE" OPENING TRAILER THE QUEENS ARE BACK.” They also hyped up the girls, “SHIN RYUJIN FROM ITZY EVERYONE,” “PRETTIEST,” and “EVERYONE SHUT UP IT'S SHIN YUNA FROM ITZY.” Midzys also couldn’t get over Chaeryeong dancing, “Itzy's main dancer y'all.”
