‘Invincible’ Season 4 drops major plot twist for Mark Grayson in new images
Prime Video's 'Invincible' Season 4 is all set to introduce major changes. If the newly released images are an indicator, titular character Mark Grayson is all set to be part of a storyline that didn't come to fruition in the comics. Slated to release on March 18, the new season sees Damien Darkblood gearing up for a hellish skirmish, and Grayson will be part of the fight against the forces of evil. The new season features eight episodes, with Prime Video releasing the first three on March 18. New episodes roll out weekly with the final one set to air on April 22.
The new images released ahead of the premiere highlight some central characters in the fourth installment. They feature changes to Debbie Grayson, Tech Jacket, Omni-Man, and Mark Grayson's character designs. The upcoming season borrows the Viltrumite War arc from Robert Kirkman's comics. The chapter finally puts Thragg (voiced by Lee Pace) at the forefront as the scope travels to galactic territory due to the Viltrumites' invasion. Other major antagonists include Dinosaurus (voiced by Matthew Rhys) and Universa (voiced by Danai Gurira). Rounding up the voice cast are Steven Yeun, Sandra Oh, and J.K. Simmons, alongside Seth Rogen, Walton Goggins, Gillian Jacobs, Zazie Beetz, and Simu Liu.
As a quick recap, Season 3 sees Grayson forced to confront his past and future while discovering how far he would go to protect his loved ones. After his father leaves behind a surprise younger half-brother named Oliver (Lincoln Bodin), who also shows signs of developing superpowers, Grayson takes on the role of a mentor in addition to his other superhero duties. At the other end, Darkblood was sent to the underworld by Cecil, while Omni-Man pulled out all the stops to get Grayson to fight by his side. The post-credits scene of Season 3 saw Darkblood talking to Satan about a war that brings Grayson into the mix. Quite simply, the new chapter will see a massive Grayson vs Darkblood showdown. In the comics, Grayson was never sent to hell, but this time, he will journey into the depths of evil.
The official synopsis for Season 4 reads, "While the world recovers from the global catastrophe of last season, a changed Mark struggles with guilt as he fights to protect his home and the people he loves, setting him on a collision course with a powerful new threat that could alter the fate of humanity forever." 'Invincible' Season 4 releases on March 18 on Prime Video.
