Is Jacqueline Blake still upset with Mia Thornton? 'RHOP' star calls pal 'evil' for speaking 'sh*t' behind her back
POTOMAC, MARYLAND: Nothing draws people closer together like breaking bread—or, in Maryland, crab legs.
That's exactly the setup for March 10's all-new episode of 'The Real Housewives of Potomac', in which "friend of the circle" Charrisse Jackson Jordan welcomes the women for a crab boil, where emotions appear to boil over.
The guest list includes the majority of the core cast plus a surprise visitor: Jacqueline Blake, who featured as a "friend of" the group in season 7.
Mia Thornton introduced her childhood friend/"sister," Jacqueline, to the women the year before, but their decades-long connection crumbled over charges of gold-digging and sleeping with married men.
Before Mia comes, Charrisse informs the group about her recent meeting with Jacqueline and Nneka Ihim, with Nneka relaying Jacqueline's advice concerning Mia: "Be cautious, beware."
"At the end of the day, I'm not gonna let that woman make me bitter or nasty," Jacqueline says to the ladies. "I'm not holding anger and evilness, because then I would be reciprocating her evil."
"Evil is a strong word," Charrisse responds, as the entire exchange is edited together with slow-motion images of crabs boiling.
"No, it's not when it comes to Mia Thornton," Jacqueline responds, triggering a cry from Robyn Dixon, who also observes Mia's arrival.
"Speak of the devil!" Robyn proclaims as Mia enters the room, dances, and declares herself the night's "main squeeze".
"Oh, hell no," Jacqueline murmurs to Candiace Dillard Bassett.
Jacqueline Blake reveals giving 'enough passes' to longtime friend Mia Thornton
Everyone confronts Mia about why she would say things were okay between her and Jacqueline when they weren't. Mia feels it doesn't concern anyone else but her and Jacqueline that the duo takes the conversation to a room.
Mia reveals mentally that she has had enough, so she doesn't feel like she has it in her to get back to Jacqueline.
Jacqueline seems visibly upset regarding Mia's lack of transparency. She accuses Mia of "continuing to do things behind my back."
Mia seems offended by Jacqueline's earlier digs at her sexual life with Gordon Thornton. Jacqueline denies ever meaning what she said.
Mia says Jacqueline is the topic of concern at her therapy session, insinuating she felt betrayed by her friend. Jacqueline apologizes for not knowing about the assault until three years later.
Owing to that guilt, Jacqueline claims she has given Mia "a lot of passes" despite whatever she has done to her.
Mia Thornton betrayed by Jacqueline Blake's silence regarding 'RHOP' star's sexual assault
Mia stated on an earlier episode of Bravo's 'RHOP' that she had been the victim of a sexual assault.
The 39-year-old reality star spoke up during the season eight episode 'Hard Conversations' during an event held by Karen Huger to benefit the charity organization PAVE, which aims to prevent sexual assault and assist survivors.
The women listened to survivor Ella as she played guitar and sang "Favorite Doll" and were shown discussing their own experiences in confessionals. Mia sat next to Karen and held her as Ella performed.
Mia brushed away tears at the table before standing up and sniffling her way to the washroom while Ella continued to perform.
"Oh, Mia, you can do it. You can do it. You got this. You got this," Mia told herself in the bathroom as Ashley Darby stood up and went to check on her.
"Mia?" Ashley inquired. "I'm okay. I'm okay," Mia told her.
Ashley remained with her as Mia said that she "just needed a second." "I'm sorry," Ashley murmured as she hugged Mia.
"I'll be fine," Mia said. "I didn't know...that something happened to you?" she replied.
"Yeah, it's something that I battle with a lot," she remarked. "I almost didn't come." "Really?" Ashley asked.
"Yes, yeah. This whole what we're doing, is triggering. It's my coping mechanism to get the f*** out when s*** is uncomfortable. You know what I mean?" Mia remarked. "Yes," Ashley answered.
"And unfortunately, that day, I couldn't get out, you know? And it's just like, Mia, why didn't you just leave?" Mia asked sadly, "Why didn't you just, like, just why did you put yourself in that situation?"
"And you know what's f***ed up, is that I know this is why I take s*** out on Jacqueline because she left me there," Mia remarked, referring to her long-time pal.
"Jacqueline left you there when it happened?" Ashley inquired.
"And I know I'm a f***ed up friend to her because of it, and it's not fair to her. She didn't know that was gonna happen to me. She trusted her boyfriend; she trusted him. You know, I get it. And when she came back the next day, she was so scared. She's like, 'Mia, what happened to you?'" Mia began weeping.
In a confessional, Mia stated that she has wanted to forgive Jacqueline since she left her, but has battled with it.
"When I look back, I probably have always been a little meaner to her because of it," Mia said. "And that doesn't make it right. It's just an emotional thing that I think a lot of people do. We don't even realize it until we look back and see it."
Are Mia Thornton and Jacqueline Blake friends again?
Fans will have to wait to see what happens next, although it may have just been a healing evening for both of them. They appear to have rekindled their friendship, based on social media.
"Two things you will never have to chase: True Friends & True Love ♥️ Truly Blessed," Mia and Jacqueline captioned a combined post in January. Mia posted a video celebrating Jacqueline's birthday the month prior, with the message "missed by bae".
