Where is Nneka Ihim from? Wendy Osefo drops startling allegations about 'RHOP' newbie's LA life in explosive episode
AUSTIN, TEXAS: Wendy Osefo asserted that Nneka Ihim had been "smoking crack back in LA" in a recent episode of 'The Real Housewives of Potomac,' which is all set to air on Bravo on December 10.
Nneka, a well-known lawyer and former Badger, is the latest addition to the 'RHOP' ensemble. For Nneka, life revolves around the five Fs: faith, family, friends, fun, and finances.
After growing up in Beloit, Nneka pursued her big-city ambitions in Los Angeles. Later, she married a Maryland doctor and relocated to his area.
However, tensions between Nneka and Wendy escalated during a group chat in Texas.
Nneka claimed that Wendy's sister was present at her daughter's celebration.
"You honored her (with a Gele) at your daughter's party," Nneka repeatedly reminded Wendy. Wendy swiftly deflected the issue by questioning Nneka, "Were you there? Or were you still smoking crack in LA?"
Nneka asked Wendy to be cautious with the allegations. In her confessional, Nneka expressed, "Wendy saying that I'm doing crack is another deflection."
'RHOP' cast doubts on Wendy Osefo's account of knowing Nneka Ihim
As the cast became aware of the drama, they were astounded to hear that Wendy continued to deny knowing Nneka before the show, even though Nneka's sister attended Wendy's daughter's celebration.
Gizelle Bryant told Wendy, "I was under the impression that this whole conversation that you didn't really know her."
Wendy explained, "That's my sister's friend."
Ashely Darby in her confessional, added, "It's a little baffling that Wendy is saying that she does not know Libby very well. When Libby got a Gele that is an intimate thing. You don't just give that to any Jane on the street. And it's not like Wendy did not tell the truth. So I'm just like, why are you lying?"
Wendy continued to say that her sister, Ivy, was friends with Libby. Since she was at her doorstep, Libby got a hair tie just like Gizelle.
Nneka Ihim denies Ashley Darby caused tension between 'RHOP' newbie and Wendy Osefo
During the first episode, Nneka's friend Ashley was heard telling Wendy that she and Nneka discussed a problematic article about her and the African caste system.
"There was this article about you being Osu or something," Ashley recalled to the professor about her chat with Nneka.
A tape of Nneka casually describing what the Osu word meant to Ashley was then displayed, followed by her matter-of-fact statement, "I don't know if she [Wendy] is [Osu], but I'm not."
When Ashley remembered what was said to Wendy, she made it appear as if Nneka was being shady, and the housewife understandably stated that she "expected more from a fellow Nigerian."
Ashley subsequently acknowledged that she misinterpreted the discussion and blamed it on tequila, and Nnenka told BOSSIP in an interview that her friend's confession made her feel justified.
“I did feel vindicated,” she informed BOSSIP.
She added, “And I also feel that people got a sense of my personality and who I am, and I feel like the authenticity of myself kind of came out in that moment. It was kind of messy what she [Ashley] did. She switched up quite a bit, and said something that was completely untrue, but I’m glad that it was very clearly shown and cleared up.”
“Ashley is my friend, so she apologized even prior to what you guys saw,” she continued.
She said, ”I think you guys will see some of those apologies and some of the actions that she takes to remedy it. But she has apologized. She didn’t understand the sensitivity, as expected. It’s a huge cultural difference. But she has apologized, and I forgive, don’t always forget all the way, but I move on, and I live off of the grace factor. Everyone deserves some grace."
The attorney further disputed that her friend's pot-stirring was the source of the ongoing conflict between her and Wendy. Nneka, on the other hand, stated that there were other factors at work.
“I understand why people see that, I would say that Ashley is not the cause,” Nneka told BOSSIP. “There were some preexisting things, and I think Ashley’s messiness kind of exacerbated things from how they would’ve naturally been handled. She just kind of caused some explosions and flare-ups,” she further said.
'The Real Housewives of Potomac' Season 8 airs Sundays at 8 pm ET/PT on Bravo. The episodes will be available on Peacock the following day.
