What happened between Mia Thornton and Jacqueline Blake? 'RHOP' star recalls dark past leading to rupture friendship with childhood BFF
POTOMAC, MARYLAND: Karen Huger welcomed the cast of 'The Real Housewives of Potomac' to her PAVE event to help survivors of sexual and domestic abuse in the January 14 episode. However, things took a dark turn when Mia Thornton revealed that she had been a victim at the hands of her former best friend, Jacqueline Blake's then-boyfriend.
Mia told co-star Ashley Darby that the PAVE event was difficult for her to attend, since it was really triggering for her.
She goes on to explain, "Unfortunately, that day I couldn't get out."
She stated that her relationship with Jacqueline has always been at odds since "she left me there." She stated that she had been a "f*cked up friend to her, because of it."
Even though Mia believes it is unfair to Jacqueline since she could not have foreseen the unexpected, she trusted her then-boyfriend.
"Because Jacqueline did leave me that night, and because of the sequence of events that happened after she left...I think over the years I wanted to forgive her."
The two had been buddies since they were fifteen. Mia admits that she has always been meaner to Jacqueline "because" of the incident.
Did Jacqueline Blake hook up with Mia Thornton's ex-husband?
Things worsened between the two when heading to Mexico for a ladies' getaway after they disagreed on parenting during the flight. Mia accused Jacqueline of not taking enough care of her children, who were "eating up all her food" at the time, and the parenting conflict escalated from there.
Jaqueline said that it "takes a village to take care of kids, but Mia wouldn't know anything about that," in a jab at Mia, whose mother was imprisoned throughout her youth.
Later, the two attempted to reconcile, but another disagreement erupted, and Mia used NeNe Leakes' "close your legs to married men" statement against her friend of over 30 years. The charge was particularly damaging because there are suspicions that Jacqueline slept with Mia's husband, Gordon.
"She just has some tension, I think she needs more d***," Jacqueline said.
"You wanna go there?" Mia said, "You wanna talk about all your d***s?" "Alright, well, keep your legs closed to married men, b***!" Mia grumbled.
"I have fought for you my entire f****g life," said an enraged Jacqueline, declaring their friendship had ended. "You’re f****d up! I would never f*****g sleep with your husband! I would never do that to you!"
Later, after some urging from the other females, the two sat down, but things went wrong again.
“What went down was unacceptable,” expressed Jacqueline. "Saying that you don’t have any friends, I understand you were upset—but to take it to his level and to make an accusation? I felt like you were insinuating Gordon, and I was like, ‘How far are you gonna take this?’ I feel like you were insinuating lies.”
“What was the lie?” questioned Mia. “I’m asking specifically, tell me, what was the lie? Jacqueline, just own it, it’s good. Own the s***.”
Where is 'RHOP' friend Jacqueline Blake now?
During the After Show, Mia admits that she and Jacqueline talk all the time after having troubles with their friendship last season. Mia explains that Jacqueline has been quite helpful with the kids, and she is even close friends with Mia's current boyfriend, whom Mia previously dated.
