LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Nine years after the release of 'Mad Max: Fury Road', the popular dystopian action franchise makes the much-awaited return with 'Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga', marking as a prequel to the 2015 film.

Directed and co-produced by George Miller, the upcoming post-apocalyptic action adventure film features Anya Taylor-Joy as Imperator Furiosa, originally played by Charlize Theron.

She is joined by Chris Hemsworth as Warlord Dementus, the leader of a Biker Horde in the Wasteland.

'Furiosa' was announced in December 2020 without giving out the details of its plot and timeline. However, the first trailer released at CCXP 2023 satisfied the curiosity of the audiences, giving a glimpse into George Miller's Wasteland.

In 'Mad Max: Fury Road' (2015), we see Furiosa and Max Rockatansky on a mission to find somewhere only known as the Green Place. Shock sets in upon reaching the place as they find it inhabitable.

A woman living there discloses that she remembers Furiosa as one of the early inhabitants of the Green Place who was abducted as a child.

'Furiosa' trailer showcases her abduction and what follows after that.

Warner Bros. gives further insight in a description that reads, "As the world fell, young Furiosa is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a great Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus. Sweeping through the Wasteland, they come across the Citadel presided over by The Immortan Joe. While the two Tyrants war for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials as she puts together the means to find her way home."
