LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Duff Goldman is sharing the details of his terrifying car accident.

The 'Duff Takes the Cake' star has been injured in a car crash. The accident took place when he was heading back home from the airport, as per a report by The US Sun.

On February 4, 2024, Duff took to his Instagram page and shared a snap of his gauze-wrapped hand.

It has been disclosed by the Food Network chef that he was hit by a “drunk driver” and now has a “long road to recovery.”

The pastry chef started by writing, “On my way home from the airport I was thinking about what kind of cake I was going to make for my daughter's birthday. Next thing I knew I bleeding and surrounded by airbags.”

“A drunk driver had swerved into my lane on a windy country road,” Duff continued.

The 'Halloween Cake-Off' chef went on to say, “After doing a systems check and finding that my only injury was to my hand, I thanked my lucky stars that I’d still be there to celebrate her third birthday even if I couldn’t make her cake.”

Duff told his fans that he's doing fine now but still has a long road to recovery ahead.

He added, "I’m fine, but it’s gonna be a long road to recovery, and for someone like me who makes a living with my hands you can imagine that this is no joke."

Duff concluded the post, "There’s no excuse for driving drunk. None. Uber, taxi, call a friend. No excuse. Stay safe friends, count your blessings. If you’re drinking don’t drive, and if you’re driving, don’t drink."

What inspired Duff Goldman to become a chef?

From the tender age of four, Duff's passion for cooking was ignited when his mother discovered him playfully brandishing a meat cleaver in the kitchen while engrossed in Chef Tell's cooking show.

This early display of enthusiasm was merely a glimpse into the culinary journey that awaited him. Following his graduation from university, Duff embarked on a remarkable culinary odyssey, honing his skills and immersing himself in the world of gastronomy.

The 'Buddy vs. Duff' star garnered invaluable experience and accolades as he served at renowned culinary havens such as the illustrious French Laundry, the esteemed Vail Cascade Hotel, and the esteemed establishment of Todd English's Olives.

However, Duff's heart yearned for his hometown, Baltimore, and in the year 2000, he made the pivotal decision to return and embark on a new chapter of his culinary career as a personal chef.
