Release date

The show is set to premiere on September 23, at 10/9 c on Food Network.

Plot

'Halloween Cake-Off' takes baking to the next level, by challenging the contestants to not just create a cake that is delicious, but also has an element of showmanship. As part of the first challenge, four bakers have to create cakes using candies and other sugary treats. One of the participants is eliminated or "ghosted" from the competition by the judges for not meeting the mark. Then the other three contestants have to bake an elaborate cake that has the ability to burst, shatter or melt implying the transformation from good to evil. The winner of this challenge will be decided by judges Waylynn Lucas and Dan Langan based on the presentation, taste and of course the showmanship. The winner also gets to take home a prize of $10,000!

Food Network describes the show as, "The competitors go up against each other to find out who is the best at baking the most ghoulish, outlandish and spookiest Halloween cakes. They pull out all the stops to create over-the-top, edible works of art that transform in spooky and mystifying ways in pursuit of winning bragging rights and the $10,000 prize."
