What does your hair say about you? Well, if you're April Kepner or rather the actor who plays her, quite a lot. Sarah Drew recently had fans quite excited as she debuted a new look on her Instagram. But why is her new hair color generating so much interest? Well, that's because it's an 'April Kepner' red, as one fan said. The hair color combined with Drew's cryptic post that she has big news to share made fans wondering whether we can look forward to seeing April Kepner back on 'Grey's Anatomy'.
Sarah Drew has always been clear that she would love to be back on the show anytime they ask her. Lately, we've seen plenty of cameos on 'Grey's Anatomy' so fans are getting used to seeing some old familar faces.

Fans on Instagram jumped to conclusions, not surprisingly. One fan posted, "it’s giving me april kepner vibes 🥰." Others echoed the sentiment and immediately began asking if a comeback is on the cards. One fan asked on Instagram, "Please be coming back as April Kepner!!!😍"
But while Sarah Drew is not giving anything away at the moment, here is what she said in November 2020 to 'Entertainment Tonight' on returning to the show. “Nobody’s asked me to come back. All I’ll say is that I love my family over there. So I would never say no to the possibility. But you know, it hasn’t presented itself.”
Well with the constant permutations and combinations that happen on 'Grey's Anatomy', that could always change. One person at least on the cast is definitely rooting for Kepner to be back on the show. Jesse Williams, who plays Dr Jackson Avery on the show, is keen on a 'Japril' reunion. Talking about Jackson and April's bond, Jesse Williams in an interview to Entertainment Tonight said, "They are incredible together, I am a fan [of Drew] and she is absolutely one of the most special people I’ve worked with. We developed those storylines together with our incredible writers, so it’ll always hold a very real place in my heart and memories. We stay in contact. She is the sweetest."
Williams also added that he would love any opportunity to continue Jackson and April's story. This in spite of the fact that Jackson currently has a 'friends with benefits' arrangement with Dr Jo Wilson (Camilla Luddington). The feeling between Jesse Williams and Sarah Drew is clearly mutual. Sarah Drew, when talking about Jackson and April's relationship at the end of 2020, said, "If it were up to me, they would have been the end game. That's if it were up to me, but, you know, it's not up to me."
