As soon as Season 4 of the show was released, fans called out TLC for "exploiting" the stars. Tammy, who has been facing a lot of weight issues because of her obesity, was seen adjusting herself to fit into a chair for the personal interview on the show.

Fans are slamming TLC for exploiting the Slaton sisters. A fan tweeted, "Whyyyy does @TLC exploit these morbidly obese people, it's sad and disturbing." Another wondered, "Is this show still faking like it’s about losing weight, getting healthy."

Watching Amy and Tammy not taking any efforts to lose weight and still getting their show renewed, a fan wondered, "So did the Slaton sisters just tell TLC they wanted to lose weight to get their show?"

Moreover, a few fans slammed the writers of '1000-Lb Sisters' for adding unnecessary lines and wrote, "Could the writers not punch up some of the dialogue on this show? Maybe get them some elocution lessons?"
