MILLEDGEVILLE, GEORGIA: Anna 'Chickadee' Cardwell, the oldest daughter of reality TV star Mama June Shannon, has died after she lost the 10-month battle with stage 4 adrenal carcinoma. She was only 29 years old.
Anna's doctors discovered cancer in her lung, liver and kidney following a series of tests after she complained about experiencing abdominal pain. She underwent her first round of chemotherapy in March.
June shared a sweet family photo and announced the news of Anna's death on Instagram. She penned, "With the breaking heart, we are announcing that @annamarie35 is no longer with us."
The reality star added, "She passed away in my home last night peacefully at 11:12 PM." June elaborated, "She gave one hell of a fight for 10 months she passed away with her family around her like she won’t and we will be updating y’all with more information as we get it today."
The reality star concluded her announcement, "We love y’all and continued prayers and thoughts for our family doing this difficult time."
Anna is survived by her mother, June; her boyfriend Eldridge Toney, her two kids, Kaitlyn Elizabeth, and Kylee Madison; and her three sisters: Lauryn 'Pumpkin' Efird, Alana 'Honey Boo Boo' Thompson and Jessica 'Chubbs' Shannon.
Anna Cardwell's sister Honey Boo Boo pens a touching tribute
'Mama June' star Honey Boo Boo penned a touching tribute to Anna Cardwell on Instagram and reflected on her last moments with her. She started her tribute noting, "This is one post I wish I didn’t have to make 💔."
She added, "Last night we all surrounded Anna with love & let her know it was okay to go. Unfortunately around 11pm Anna took her last breathe. Anna was in so much pain last night but now as a family we all know she is at peace now."
Honey Boo Boo then expressed how difficult it was for her to see Anna face cancer, "Watching my 29 year old sister this last year battle this horrible disease hasn’t been easy. Anna was a fighter & still is."
She continued, "Lord please wrap your arms around her 2 babies & our family as the next couple of days will make this all a reality. I’m so glad that you waited til i was home to take your last breath!"
TLC show star further noted, "I would’ve loved for you to get to see me graduate college but i know you will forever cheer me on in heaven! We will all make sure your legacy lives on forever. And i promise to always make sure to celebrate our birthday like you never left!"
Honey Boo Boo concluded her tribute, "The sky looks a little bit different today. We will always love you Anna. You hit me hard with his one Anna but i know your in a better place now and pain free forever!"

'Mama June: Family Crisis' star Anna Cardwell suffered four miscarriages as she wanted a third child before her cancer battle.
She was trying to have a third child with her boyfriend Eldridge Toney after she had her daughters, Kaitlyn Clark, and Kylee Cardwell, whom she shared with her ex-husband Michael Cardwell.
In 2021, Anna reflected on the heartbreaking experience of multiple miscarriages. In an interview with The US Sun, Anna said, "We are trying to have a third child, and it’s been difficult. I’ve gone through four miscarriages and a D&C."
She added, "It's been a long bumpy road for us trying to have baby number three." Anna also revealed that her most recent miscarriage occurred two days before Christmas, and she caused her to need a D&C.
Mama June Shannon and Anna Cardwell had a legal battle over unpaid money
Mama June Shannon gave birth to Anna Cardwell when she was 15.
Anna had a turbulent relationship with June which went worse when her mom rekindled a relationship with her alleged childhood sex abuser, Mark McDaniel, after his release from prison in 2014.
In December 2014, Anna and June reunited for Christmas. Besides reunion, the mother-daughter duo also had a legal battle over money.
Anna filed a lawsuit against June for alleged unpaid appearances on TLC show 'Here Comes Honey Boo Boo'.
The lawsuit also took aim at the network TLC as well as others who she claimed should have protected her and her daughter Kaitlyn's wages.
