"Alabama came to me and said, ‘Look, I don't know if I wanna be a drummer,'" Travis revealed on Young Hollywood. "I like playing drums with you, I like spending time with you, but I think I'd rather sing and play piano.’ So we did that, and we never looked back."

Travis commended her potential, and at the age of 12, she released her debut pop hit, "Our House," followed by "Heartbreaker" and other Christmas songs in 2018. Alabama ventured into a new music style in 2023, sharing a TikTok video of herself lip-syncing to a snippet of her upcoming rap song. The ambitious musician then explained why she wanted to try the new genre.

"Since I could walk, I was in the music industry. I was watching my dad perform in punk bands, rock bands, in rap concerts, everything," she revealed in a video that has since been deleted. "I've been influenced by rap my entire upbringing and punk rock."

She also posted a childhood photo with Nicki Minaj, shot while her father performed with the "Super Bass" rapper and Rick Ross during Lil Wayne's I Am Music II tour in 2011.
