'I Know What You Did Last Summer' has been one of those iconic slasher films that spawned a couple of sequels that were equally commercially successful. The horror franchise, sans the ghouls and ghosts, managed to captivate the audience for its gripping storyline and will now be back in the form of a TV series.

Going by the same title, the series is a modern-day reboot of the 1973 novel by Lois Duncan and the '97 cult film. Amazon Studios bagged the contract in 2019 to produce a series Sara Goodman and James Wan as the Executive Producers. And while you wait for the much-anticipated series to premiere, here are a bunch of horror-thrillers that include 'Penny Dreadful', 'American Horror Story', and 'The Walking Dead' that you can watch in the meantime.

'I Know What You Did Last Summer' releases October 15 on Amazon Prime.

Synopsis

The series borrows the plotline from the original film. The latest version follows a group of teens in a small town full of dark secrets and finds themselves stalked by a mysterious killer one year after the night of their graduation ceremony. The film starred Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Freddie Prinze Jr., and Ryan Phillippe in key roles. The flick follows the friends who are stalked by a brutal killer one year after they cover up a car accident where that kills a man.

Iseman plays Lennon in the series. She is best known for her role as Bethany Walker in 'Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle' and 'Jumanji: The Next Level.' Her other works include: 'The Rachels' and 'Killer Coach'. Brianne Tju, Ezekiel Goodman, Ashley Moore, Sebastian Amoruso, Fiona Rene, Cassie Beck, Brooke Bloom, and Bill Heck round up the rest of the cast.

Writer/Director

Craig Macneill ('Lizzie') serves as the director and joins the list of EPs that include Goodman, Wan, Michael Clear, Erik Feig, Rob Hackett, Shay Hatten, Neal H. Moritz, and Pavun Shetty.
