'The Walking Dead' Season 11 Episode 6: Daryl tortures one of his own in dark episode
‘The Walking Dead’ Season 11 is truly giving fans what they asked for in the show’s final edition and it seems they are in no mood to stop. In earlier episodes, we saw Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) getting captured by the Reapers and coming face to face with Leah. On the other hand, Maggie (Lauren Cohan), Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), and others are still fighting to stay alive.
The latest episode ratchets up the tension to a whole new level and it is indeed the best episode of the season so far. Daryl has been really unlucky that the Reapers have him and they are using him to get the whereabouts of the others. Now, we know how tough Daryl is and he will do anything to protect his group. However, he faces an extraordinary situation when he is forced to torture one of his own.

In the episode, we see that The Reapers have captured Frost and are torturing him to find out about Maggie and the group’s location. But they change the game when they tell Daryl to do all their dirty work. We see him torturing one of his own to keep up the illusion that he is not with Frost (Glenn Stanton) and Maggie (Lauren Cohan). Daryl chops off Frost’s finger when he won’t talk and the scene made us feel so bad for both. Daryl definitely would never want to hurt Frost, but this time, he needs to do that so that others can survive.
As soon as he chops off his finger, Frost gives in and gives a description of Maggie’s house. “Yellow house.Town off of the 283. Antenna,” Frost yells. The Reapers, along with Daryl, head out to the location and find that the entire house is empty. However, Daryl finds out that Maggie, Negan, Elijah (Okea Eme-Akwari), and Gabriel (Seth Gilliam) are hiding in a concealed hideout under a trap door on the floor of the house. He manages to distract Leah and other Reapers for a while, but they eventually do find the trap door. Fortunately, by then, Maggie and the group have escaped and the hideout is empty.
However, things are looking bleak for Daryl because it turns out Pope was able to extract some more information from Frost before he died. This means, he might have said some things about Daryl as well and how he’s only acting as if he's a part of The Reapers. Pope glances and whispers back at Daryl as he walks away. Leah seems to have picked up what Pope said and looks at him intensely.
The entire scenario makes us believe that it might be the end of the road for Daryl. But, Daryl is a master in escaping dangerous situations, so he is surely going to think of a plan to get out of this situation.
Elsewhere, we see one of the most frightening scenes of the season so far when Connie (Lauren Widloff) and Virgil (Kevin Carroll) get into a secluded mansion. Connie feels that they are not alone in the house and it is confirmed when a creature is looking at them through a hole in the bathroom. The best part of the scene is how the makers decided to increase the tension with no sound when Connie appears on the screen. We get to experience what Connie experiences.
Everywhere she goes, all we hear is silence and it was definitely scary. Connie gets trapped behind the bathroom wall and is trying to get Virgil’s attention by thumping on the wall. However, he feels that it is one of the creatures. Connie sees him getting closer, but is unable to tell him that it’s her. As soon as he reaches closer to the wall, one of the creatures grabs him from behind and a fight takes place. The fight ends with Virgil killing the creature and looking back at the wall. He certainly doesn’t know that it is Connie behind the wall till the time she breaks through and gets reunited with him.
‘On The Inside’ was undoubtedly one of the best episodes from the show in recent times. It has some intense moments that will surely make fans gasp. Meanwhile, the scene where Daryl tortures Frost is extremely hardcore and might make some people uncomfortable. But, it was a classic episode that makes the final season even more interesting.
