'I am Groot' on Disney+: Why Bradley Cooper picked English major at Georgetown University instead of acting
Finally after teasing the fans, Marvel Studios is all ready to bring its out-of-the-box and intriguing fantasy adventure series ‘I am Groot.’ The series drops globally on August 10, 2022 on Disney+. The series has been directed by Kirsten Lepore. The series is also a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The trailer was officially unveiled at the San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) 2022 panel on July 23 by Marvel head Kevin Feige.
While action-megastar Vin Diesel voices the tree-alien character Groot, the series also has the Oscar nominated star Bradley Cooper giving voice to the character of Rocket. In the series, Rocket, a member of the Guardians, is a genetically modified raccoon bounty hunter and a master of weapons and military tactics. There is going to be a chase between Groot and Rocket, which is teased in the series' trailer.

According to Disney+, the official description of the series reads, “I Am Groot” is a collection of five original shorts starring Baby Groot, everyone’s favorite little tree, and will feature several new and unusual characters.” Bradley Cooper has captivated global fans and audiences with his riveting performances in films like ‘Hangover,’ ‘Valentine’s Day,’ ‘A Star Is Born,’ ‘Silver Linings Playbook,’ ‘American Hustle,’ ‘Serena,’ ‘American Sniper,’ and so on. He has voiced the character of Rocket Raccoon since 2014 in the MCU movies. While almost everyone knows about his biggest milestones professionally as an actor, not many know that Cooper majored in English language, not acting.

According to Bravo’s ‘Inside the Actors Studio’ old interview dated 2011, its true that Cooper had always been interested in acting. But he was not sure if he could make a living out of it. He also shared how Georgetown University, where he attended college, didn't offer a theatrical acting major, so he chose to get his degree in English instead.
During another one of his old Hollywood reporter interview appearance dated January 2013, Cooper revealed how he had applied for an MFA graduate program at The New School in New York and thought if he could get in, it would ease his nerves about chasing the dream. If he didn't get in, his plan was to intern at a theater somewhere in Philadelphia.
Cooper had been nominated at several Academy awards for his performances in films like ‘Silver Linings Playbook,’ ‘American Sniper,’ and ‘American Hustle.’ He also received Academy award nominations for producing ‘Joker,’ and ‘Nightmare Alley.’ Cooper has also won two Grammy awards for his film ‘A Star is Born’ with Lady Gaga. He set a new record as the first actor to win two Grammy awards for the film’s original music and soundtracks.
