Hugh Jackman suits up as Wolverine in 'Deadpool 3', fans say it was 'planned all along'

And it's official. Deadpool forays into the MCU in 'Deadpool 3' in September 204, and he's bringing back one of the iconic mutants in Hugh Jackman's Wolverine. Ryan Reynolds broke the news on social media and needless to say, Twitter went into a frenzy after the actor posted a video on his Twitter explaining what was in store in the third movie, while also getting Jackman to feature for barely two seconds, but enough to confirm his role in the movie.

The actor was seated on a sofa telling fans how he felt "extremely sad" about missing D23 where there was no 'Deadpool 3' announcement. He then shares a workout montage before talking about a potential story idea the writers had. This is followed by him asking Jackman if he wants to play Wolverine again, to which the Aussie actor appears briefly and says "sure."

"Both of the greatest x men characters, they finally join the mcu can't wait to see some interactions between them and the avengers in the future," one of the tweets read. The news also spawned multiple theories: "Wait is Deadpool in the MCU or in its own universe? If it is in MCU does this mean Hugh's Wolverine is in MCU? Wait I'm getting ahead of myself," one of the fans wrote. "Pretty sure Logan takes place way into the future, this is probably gonna be a sequel to DP2 but a prequel to Logan," another fan remarked.

Some felt it was the same Wolverine they see in 'Logan'. "Hopefully it will be the same uber-violent Wolverine we saw in Logan. No twerking or political messages please, just lots of kickass action!!!" one of the tweets suggested. "Best part about this is they can use the multiverse to use whatever version of wolverine is best," a comment read. "The fact we are gonna be seeing Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds doing Deadpool 3 together is the biggest dream I could've asked for," a fan opined.

"If we’re in the same timeline as Deadpool then X-23 has yet to be conceived. Unless they completely forget the X-men timelines and start a new. Can’t recast huh. Man is the wolverine. But could go with his son Dyken or something like that," a tweet read. "When Wade asks Wolverine to get back on the saddle in Deadpool 2 after he retires, planned all along!!" a fan said.

'Deadpool' 3 is slated to release on September 6, 2024.
