LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Sometimes it takes a lot more than just a great product idea and perfect pitch to convince the Sharks on 'Shark Tank' to invest in a business. In FunkkOFF teeth refresher it was Robert Herjavec's wife Kym Herjavec who helped the brand secure a deal on the ABC show.

FunkOFF founders Joelle Flynn and Sonia Hounsell stepped into the tank seeking an investment of $250,000 for a 5% stake in their $5 Million evaluated business. Though the Sharks- Mark Cuban, Kevin O'Leary, Lori Greiner, Emma Grede, and Robert Herjavec, were absolutely bowled over by the innovative 2-in-1 concept of a toothbrush with inbuilt toothpaste design of FunkkOFF, the brand's sales numbers, and negative profit margins, proved to be a huge red flag for all these celebrity investors. Even though Robert was one of the first Sharks to back out from the deal citing that the business was too small and at a very early stage, the Shark eventually changed his mind in the eleventh hour and decided to make a deal! If you're wondering what changed the Shark's mind, then you can thank his wife Kym Herjavec! Read on to know more about Kym and how she managed to help FunkkOFF bag the $250K deal.

Who is Robert Herjavec's wife Kym Herjavec?

Kym Herjavec (née Johnson) was born in August 1976 in Sydney, Australia. She's best known for her stint as a ballroom dancer on the first three seasons of Australia's 'Dancing with the Stars' as a professional dancer. She later moved to the U.S. version of the celebrity dance competition franchise from 2006 to 2015. She also served as a judge on the Australian version of the show from 2013 to 2015.

Kym was previously engaged to Australian cricketer Shane Watson. But in 2015, the ballroom dancer confirmed that she was dating her 'DWTS' Season 20 partner Robert. The couple got engaged in 2016 and tied the knot in 2016. She gave birth to their twins in 2018.

Even though Joelle and Sonia's product was a huge hit amongst the Sharks, the duo's poor sales numbers and their not having any profit margins managed to put the Sharks off from even making an offer. Though Robert initially sided with his fellow investors in sitting out from making the deal, as Joelle and Sonia were ready to leave the tank, the Shark had a change of heart. He reminisced about how his wife often calls him out for turning down a deal instead of making an investment in a product that she would be happy to buy for herself. Robert felt that FunkkOFF's innovative yet simple design and the perfect solution it was offering would definitely be something that his wife would love. Not wanting to disappoint his wife, Robert decided to make an offer but tweaked it to give them the $250K they were seeking for a 12% equity instead of the 5% they were willing to offer.

On hearing Robert finally makes an offer, the two entrepreneurs immediately accepted his offer without any hesitation. While Robert was pleased with his decision to invest in a business that his wife would love, the FunkkOFF founders were happy with getting a Shark on board to help them with their business!
