LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: As 'House of the Dragon's action-packed second season approaches its thrilling finale, fans are on the edge of their seats, eagerly anticipating the resolution of numerous plotlines.

The season has introduced new dragons and dragon-riders, intensified the Targaryen civil war known as 'The Dance of Dragons', and set the stage for what promises to be one of the largest battles in the 'Game of Thrones' universe.

As Criston Cole’s Green army prepares to clash with Daemon’s Rivermen near Harrenhal, and Rhaenyra's new dragons loom across Blackwater Bay, the finale must address a host of unresolved questions.

From the outcome of pivotal battles to the fate of key characters, these are the five burning questions we’re eager to see answered as the season draws to a dramatic close.

1. Will Daemon and Rhaenyra reunite to defeat the Greens?

The tense and fractured relationship between Daemon and Rhaenyra has been a focal point in Season 2 of 'House of the Dragon'. Daemon, preoccupied with building his own army at Harrenhal, has been distant from Rhaenyra, who has successfully added three more dragons to her side.

Their separation has left their forces divided and their potential for victory uncertain. With Daemon’s new army, led by the riverlords and tainted by his controversial actions, and Rhaenyra’s growing dragon strength, a reconciliation between the two could be pivotal.

A united front might be the key to overcoming the Greens and Criston Cole in the looming battle. As both leaders face crucial decisions, their ability to set aside differences and strategize together could significantly alter the course of the Targaryen civil war.

2. Will 'House of the Dragon' see Daeron and Tessarion's marking their debut?

Daeron Targaryen, the youngest son of King Viserys and Alicent Hightower, has been a shadowy figure in most of Season 2. Teased but not yet seen, Daeron and his dragon, Tessarion, are set to make their debut in the finale.

Fostering in Oldtown, Daeron’s involvement in the war has been limited to rumors and brief mentions. However, with Tessarion now taking to the skies, Daeron's entry into the fray is imminent. As the youngest dragon-rider, his impact on the battlefield could be significant.

The question remains: will Daeron’s participation tip the scales in favor of the Greens, or will he become a wildcard in the war effort? His role could shift the dynamics of the conflict and influence the final outcome of the Targaryen civil war.

3. Will Corlys name Heir to Driftmark?

Corlys Velaryon, Lord of Driftmark, has been grappling with the question of succession throughout Season 2. With his granddaughter, Baela Targaryen, having turned down the lordship, Corlys faces a critical choice between his two bastard sons, Alyn and Adam Hull.

Both are vying for the Driftwood Throne, with Alyn having sworn loyalty to Rhaenyra and claiming the dragon Seasmoke, while Adam's standing as a sailor presents a different kind of legitimacy. The decision is not only a matter of personal preference but also of political implications.

The people of Driftmark may react strongly to a bastard inheriting the lordship, raising questions about legitimacy and stability. Corlys’s choice will be crucial in determining the future of Driftmark and its role in the ongoing conflict.

4. Will other Dragons get riders?

With Vermithor, Silverwing, and Seasmoke now claimed, three dragons remain unbound: Sheepstealer, the Cannibal, and Grey Ghost. These dragons have not been explicitly featured in the series, but hints suggest that Sheepstealer, known for preying on livestock, could be the wild dragon spotted in the Vale.

In a recent episode, Rhaena Targaryen departed with Rhaenyra’s children to seek out and tame this elusive dragon. The process of finding and bonding with these remaining dragons will be pivotal, as their integration into Rhaenyra's forces could significantly alter the balance of power in the ongoing Targaryen civil war.

5. What Happened to the Northmen?

In the first season of 'House of the Dragon', Cregan Stark pledged his support to Rhaenyra and Team Black, but due to the approaching winter, he could only offer 10,000 seasoned veterans from the North, rather than a full army.

These elderly warriors, despite their age, are among the most experienced fighters, having left their homes to avoid depleting resources for younger soldiers. They have been on a long journey, crossing the vast North, and are expected to make a significant impact when they emerge into the Riverlands.

Though they might not seem intimidating at first glance, their battle-hardened skills and fierce determination could prove to be a wildcard in the final episode, potentially tipping the scales in the ongoing Targaryen civil war.
