HGTV 'Home Town Takeover': How Ben and Erin Napier renovated Wetumpka's Company Street
Renovating a home or two is definitely a challenge, but for the pros at HGTV, it's all in a day's work. When it comes to Ben and Erin Napier, however, this dynamic duo decided that it was time to truly take it up a notch, by giving all of Wetumpka, Alabama, the ultimate makeover in their show 'Home Town Takeover'.
So far, we've seen the couple renovate homes, public spaces and storefronts, giving parts of the town a new lease of life, all while helping the community and those within it who work tirelessly. This week, the Napiers take on a rather unique challenge, seeing that their next project isn't a home or a store -- it's a literal street! The couple gears up to renovate Wetumpka's main downtown street, known as Company Street. With help coming in the form of 'Restored with the Fords' host Steve Ford and 'Bargain Mansions' Tamara Day, here's what went down on this week's episode!

For Ben and Erin Napier, Wetumpka truly has a special place in their heart, having worked on projects across the city and revamping these spaces entirely. This week, the duo faces an interesting new challenge altogether -- they are out to renovate Company Street, the main downtown street of Wetumpka, Alabama.
The main street is the lifeline of any town. It's where you have all the business and storefronts, it's what attracts visitors to your town and what compels them to stay. Looking around at Company Street, both Ben and Eri acknowledge that they have a lot of work ahead of them, seeing that now, the place is nowhere its full potential. Erin notes a very important fact -- back home in Laurel when Magnolia Street got a facelift, it changed the vibe of the place entirely, making Laurel itself seem more warm, open and welcoming. With Company Street, the Napiers have the same idea in mind -- to create an atmosphere that's both, welcoming and exciting.
After a discussion with Jenny Stubbs, the Main Street Executive Director, Ben and Erin reveal their grand plans -- they're hoping to take down old powerlines that aren't functional anymore, give the store a new paint job and create a canopy of lights, all while doing a massive clean up job. For his special project, Ben decided to build a small park on the street parallel to Company Street, complete with custom benches for people to just chill and enjoy during their free time.
Upon unveiling the new and improved Company Street, shop owners were thrilled to see the renovations and the new updates, seeing that the place looked, unlike anything it had before!
