When it comes to home renovations, it's a job best left to the experts. However, that hasn't stopped people from trying their hand at fixing or revamping their homes. Unfortunately, sometimes, this can go very, very wrong. Enter Jasmine Roth, home renovator extraordinaire. Armed with her super-efficient team and a knack for home makeovers, Roth helps homeowners fix all their DIY mistakes while getting their projects back on track.
As listed on the HGTV website: "Jasmine Roth rescues homeowners who took on major DIYs and are living without bathrooms, kitchens, and bedrooms due to issues they can't fix. Jasmine and her team help finish the problematic projects and turn mishaps into dream spaces in record time."
The first episode of 'Help! I Wrecked My Home' titled 'Help! My Reno Has No Plan' features, new homeowners, Mike and Saras's tryst with renovating their new purchase. The summary for the episode reveals, "Mike and Sara buy their dream home knowing it needs work, but what they think will be a quick reno turns into months of living out of a suitcase at their in-laws; Jasmine delivers an open concept kitchen and living room fit for their family of five."
What makes Roth the perfect host is the fact that she started her career in construction by taking on the ultimate DIY project — her own home. Roth and her husband bought a property in Huntington Beach. They planned on overseeing the construction work over the weekends while maintaining full-time jobs. Roth realized soon enough that she had to commit to either her job or the building of her home — she picked the latter.
And it definitely turned out to be the right decision, seeing that she loved it and turned it into a career. Roth has always been the type to get her hands dirty so it's no surprise that construction proved to be her calling. Having grown up in Virginia, knowing basic carpentry and other handyman skills were a must — Roth already had a good foundation to work with.
“When you live in the middle of nowhere, you find yourself building stuff because there's nothing else to do. I grew up building treehouses, really cool playhouses, beautiful sheds, making furniture and that kind of stuff with my dad in the garage.” This is what she had to say in an interview with HGTV, which explains how and why her skills come so naturally to her.
Roth has had a very successful TV career so far, seeing that she's hosted shows like 'Hidden Potential', 'Rock the Block' and Season 1 of 'Help! I Wrecked My House!'
