The official synopsis reads, “Centering around intimate new interviews with Tony Hawk himself, the film is an all-encompassing look at the skateboarder’s life, legendary career, and relationship with the sport with which he’s been synonymous for decades. Hawk, a pioneer of modern vertical skating who is still pushing his limits at the age of 53, remains one of the most influential skateboarders of all time. Dynamically showcasing Hawk’s pure joy in skateboarding and his incredible tenacity over 40 years, the documentary probes the complex psyche of a man whose dogged determination and drive to succeed place him at the pinnacle of his sport, while celebrating a legacy that is still being written.”
Who stars in the HBO documentary
The documentary will feature exclusive interviews from Tony and never-before-seen archival footage. Apart from him, the film will also feature professional skateboarders such as Rodney Mullen, Mike McGill, Lance Mountain, Steve Caballero, Neil Blender, Andy MacDonald, Duane Peters, Sean Mortimer, and Christian Hosoi.
Tony Hawk
Known as a pioneer of modern vertical skateboarding, Hawk became a professional skateboarder at the age of 14 and completed the first documented "900" skateboarding trick in 1999. The same year, he partnered with Activision for a skating-based video game and came out with ‘Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater’. The game, along with its subsequent versions, generated more than $1 billion in sales.
Hawk finished his career with 16 medals at the X Games.

The documentary film is being directed and produced by Sam Jones. Meanwhile, Mark Duplass, Mel Eslyn, and Jay Duplass serve as executive producers on the movie.
