'Halo' Episode 6 Preview: Will Master Chief go against Dr Catherine Halsey?
'Halo' may have had mixed responses from the game ardents, but the casually curious are keen to see what the Paramount+ sci-fi thriller starring Pablo Schreiber has to offer. The promo for Episode 6 titled 'Solace' hints at Makee (Charlie Murphy) and Master Chief John-117's (Schreiber) extended interaction, and the fallout of Dr Catherine Halsey's (Natascha McElhone) actions, both past and present. The previous episode sees John lose the second artifact while combating the Covenants attack on Eridanus II.
It starts off with a younger Dr Halsey (Natascha McElhone) taking a tour of Eridanus II’s Reach for Life Installation. She sees a school where she encounters little John who's pretty much a Steve Rogers-type and a prime candidate for the Spartan program then. There is that theory where she kidnapped the children with the potential to be Spartans. Coming back, that Makee is now in the UNSC confines might actually work in her favour. The teaser sees a tense interaction between the two with the newcomer weaving her thoughts.

One of the scenes in the teaser is about how Halsey's decisions of bringing Cortana to life, kidnapping the children for the program and some of her clandestine methods of research come to light and the repercussions it has on her relationship with John. With the supersoldier directly disobeying her command in the previous episode to save Kai (Kate Kennedy), there's clear divide between the two and that might be one of the key storylines heading forward into the series. With the past catching up, only time will tell what Halsey's next move will be. Clearly, she does look like she's a step ahead almost always.
The official synopsis for episode 6 reads, "Survivors from battle return to Reach. John confronts Dr. Halsey, and the lies of his past. The new prisoner seems to know John better than he knows himself. Determined to understand more, John turns back to the mystery artifact, which shows him something truly startling."
