'Chronicle Mysteries: Helped to Death' is the fifth in the series of 'Chronicle Mysteries' films on the Hallmark Movies and Mysteries channel. In 'Helped to Death' Alex McPherson who works at a newspaper and is also a true-crime podcaster is joined by her partner Drew, as they investigate a death at a self-help retreat and the controversial life coach who oversees it.
In this fifth installment of the franchise, Alex and Drew are both finally being taken seriously and not being treated just as armchair detectives any longer.

Plot
'Chronicle Mysteries: Helped to Death' centers around a retreat conducted by a controversial self-help guru Lochlyn Munro. When a participant at the retreat ends up dead, Alex, Drew and the rest of the Chronicle team try to find the culprit among Munro's many followers. The death is being portrayed as accidental but Alex has her doubts about that.

Alison Sweeney
Alison Sweeney is an award-winning actress, producer, director, TV host and author who provides her 1.5+ million social media followers with advice on how to balance career, family, health and wellness. Sweeney not only stars on 'Chronicle Mysteries' but she also serves as executive producer on the show which she co-created out of her love for true crime podcasts.
Sweeney is perhaps best known for her role as Sami Brady on 'Days of Our Lives'. She joined the cast when she was just sixteen and the role also earned her an Emmy Nomination for 'Best Lead Actress'
Benjamin Ayres
Benjamin Ayres has featured extensively in both films and television. He is perhaps best known for his role as Dr Zachary Miller in the medical drama 'Saving Hope'. He has guest-starred in several shows such as the CW series 'Burden of Truth', in The Hallmark Channel's 'Falling For Vermont' and he is a series regular in the new Canadian TV series 'Detention Adventure.'

The film is directed by Jason Bourque and produced by Kevin Lesley. Sweeney also serves as executive producer of the show, which she also stars in and co-created.
